This week’s o7 Show follows the release of the Parallax update, and the build up to the Acaron update, where we’ll see an addition of 13 ships. CCP Mimic and Guard joined us on the couch, and CCP Seagull joined them to talk about what was coming out over the holiday season, and why we should be excited.
CCP Seagull Talks Acaron
CCP Seagull went on to discuss the changes coming in the Acaron update in December. This December will see the addition of 13 new ships, the tech 2 frigate class logistics hulls, faction e-war frigate hulls, an ice-mining frigate named the Discovery, and the four micro-jump drive field destroyers, along with kill-marks and rust effects on ships. One of the other things CCP Seagull seemed to be hyped about was the new ‘opt-in’ camera mechanic, which she believed will make the game a completely different experience. Of course, this is not a mandatory change. The episode also featured a lot of talk about the destroyers, and CCP Seagull also spoke about Operation Frostline. Operation Frostline will also be a PvE event based off Crimson Harvest, featuring new rewards, drops and twists. Prepare for some good hunting in the holidays.
CCP Falcon and CCP Delegate Zero Talk In-Game Lore
CCP Falcon and CCP Delegate Zero joined CCP Guard on the couch next for a discussion about the revival of player interaction with the game’s storyline, from the discovery of Caroline’s Star, and their effect in an emergent universe. The Crimson Harvest was CCP’s Halloween event, against the Blood Raiders in PvE sites, which drove PvP content generation, and was a huge success. Operation Frostline is the next huge PvE event, and we can expect a lot of Scope news videos’ in game, as corporations begin to make a play for assets in New Eden. This content will again be available all over the galaxy, from High-Sec to Wormhole space.
The Amarr Championships also took place last weekend, with the representatives of the Tash-Murkon and Kor-Azor royal houses being flown to Iceland for the finals at FanFest 2016. The new format, with more focused and interesting matches created upsets and surprises that people simply did not expect, with seasoned tournament veterans getting knocked out early on. The question is, which family will go on to win the Championship and the Amarr throne?
CCP Delegate Zero said he would have liked to see House Khanid have a crack at the throne, especially with their interesting and complex history with the rest of the empire, and CCP are thrilled to see players having an influence on the storyline of EVE Online. This past week also saw the return of Drifter incursions, along with the discovery of new, unknown Drifter structures, including the possible discovery of a chronicle from the Society of Conscious Thought, a Jove offshoot, which will reveal a lot of information upon its discovery.
CCP Falcon also hinted at a few of the Christmas gifts players can expect this year, stating that a few eagle-eyed Redditors had found them a few of them on SISI.
EVE Gunjack is also seeing its release today on the Samsung Gear VR Platform

CCP Mimic and CCP Guard: In and Out Of Game Events

EOC.TV Rumble
Each contestant will be put into one of four teams which in turn will have their own staging tower ‘safe zones’ to form up in. Once the form up is complete, each team will need to race to a cyno jammed system where the main event will take place with the objective of killing a titan donated for the purposes of the event. It is worth noting however, that the ‘safe zones’ may not be entirely safe as they can be attacked by an opposing team. While these are protected by two carriers they will not be enough to defend them on their own. The teams will use their tower as a repair platform for their fleet as well. Each team will need to decide if they are going to go for the opposing teams’ ‘safe zones’ first or head straight for the Titan.
This event has pulled in a list of well known Fleet Commanders who will be coordinating the event including – Rollo Burningsky (CVA), Killah Bee (Pandemic Legion), Raknor Bile (The-Culture), Mister Toucher (Gentlemen’s Club), Manfred Sidious (Pandemic Legion), Sort Dragon (DARKNESS.) and Doomchinchilla (Pandemic Legion) who have generously donated their time to participate.
To sign up for the event there is a fee of 100 million ISK which will be donated to the 3 charities once the event is complete. You can find out more information and sign up by visiting the EOC.tv website Rumble Page here.

CCP Guard and CCP Rise Discuss The New MJFG Destroyers
CCP Guard then sat down with CCP Rise to talk about the addition of the four new micro-jump field generating destroyers that are coming with the Acaron Patch in December. The Magus, Pontifrex, Stork and Bifrost are the names of these fantastic new destroyers that have amazing potential to manipulate and effect both enemy fleets, and friendly fleets.
*Please note that the following is a paraphrase of the conversation, to make for easier reading
CCP Guard: Where did the idea of these ships come from?
CCP Rise: I can’t remember where the idea came from, but we brainstormed this idea at some stage, and this idea was given a boot when we realized what was possible.
CCP Guard: The destroyers are available on SISI, but for those who have been living under a rock, what makes these ships special?
CCP Rise: These destroyers can support warfare links, they are tech 2 destroyers, that run at a 2% bonus, and exclusive access to an area of effect micro jump drive, that can move ships, bombs, drones and interdiction bubbles, and missiles.
The mass test on SISI was today, and we saw what was possible, we saw fleets get pulled in all different directions, and just how they can be used.
CCP Guard: What is the feedback?
CCP Rise: There is nervousness about the combat capability, but we haven’t found any game breaking issues, so it sounds great, the potential is amazing, and the tactical options are amazing, such as removing logistics from their support fleet, clearing or moving interdiction bubbles away from your capitals, slingshotting bombs back into an enemy fleet, and so much more.
CCP Guard: Can we expect more updates like this?
CCP Rise: We really like the ability to effect what happens in game, without having to rely on numbers, it allows players to change the battlefield without being n+1, but we have to be careful not to add too many gimmicky mechanics to the game.
CCP Guard:These changes will be very exciting, I cant wait to see what happens, we are out of time, and going to end this show, There is one ship that these ships can’t remove, and that is friendship. See you later, and thanks for watching
