The fourth week of June continued to exhibit a slowdown in New Eden as witnessed in previous weeks. Though battles were fought, it seems both numbers and frequency have declined throughout New Eden as the entirety of Null Security space is waiting in abated breath for the deployment of the new sovereignty mechanic changes termed FozzieSov. Coupled with exhaustion, backroom diplomacy and internal drama, much of Null Security space saw little action, the main focus remaining on Fountain and Providence which proved the only exceptions. Whether this proves to be only the calm before the FozzieSov storm, or a worrying warning for the future of Null Security space is yet to be seen.
The North: Fighting between the Vanguard Coalition and the Geminate Coalition continues, though few clashes were registered. For the most part, rumors of backroom dealings and alliances experiencing internal issues abound. GemCo managed to somewhat recover a few systems, specifically in The Spire region, while SOLAR FLEET [SOLAR] continued to strengthen its hold over the Cache region and Etherium Reach continues to be highly contested between the two entities.
The East: The war between Test Alliance Please Ignore [TEST] and its allies and the Red Menace Coalition has turned into a time zone trench war, with both sides mainly reinforcing structures and skirmishing. So far with Pandemic Legion [-10.0] still basing out of the Curse region, the Red Menace Coalition has little incentive to fully commit, in fear of drawing [-10.0]’s attention, who has so far supported [TEST] in the fighting.
The South: The fighting between Northern Coalition. [NC] and Providence Bloc continues in earnest, with Providence Bloc losing a few more systems to [NC]. However, with [NC] re-deploying, it is safe to assume Providence Bloc will be able to re-claim these systems. This also means peace will soon return to the troubled region, though for how long; the looming threat of an Imperium invasion is visible on the horizon.
The war between Elite Space Coalition and Guardians of the Galaxy coalition rages on in the Querious and Delve regions, the latter making significant headway. The battles have attracted [-10.0]’s attention, and yet even so GotG forces managed to push forward, re-claiming a few systems. The only place where the coalition seems to falter is the Catch region, where Against ALL Authorities [-A-] forces, backed by [-10.0] have been interfering with the sovereignty the coalition had gained there, proving to be a persistent pain.
The West: The situation in Fountain for HERO Coalition seems to be dire. Amidst the maelstrom of drama, re-structuring and membership decline, Black Legion. [MEN.] have stepped up their assault on HERO Coalition assets, targeting and destroying their Super Capital Assembly Arrays. [-10.0] and Imperium forces have attempted to help HERO Coalition, but were limited in the scope of assets they could bring against [MEN.]’s Capitals and Super Capitals. This has led to continued defeats of HERO Coalition, who seems to be having troubles even organizing strat ops fleets at the moment.

With only a couple of weeks before FozzieSov is supposedly deployed, New Eden slowly grinds to a halt. All the major players are looking with expecting eyes at the horizon, for the new iteration of sovereignty warfare. Add to it the strain of previous months of warfare and the encroaching summer vacation and it isn’t hard to see why activity seems to have dropped all across Cluster. Whether the new sovereignty system revitalizes Null Security space or allows it to stagnate further is unknown. The only places where conflict is still the bread and butter of its inhabitants seem to be Providence and Fountain, and with HERO Coalition looking ever more shaky, it may be down to Providence alone. As some pilots have commented, this does not make a healthy game. All we can do is hope that the new sovereignty mechanics won’t prove to be a dud, but the breath of fresh air Null Sec desperately needs.
