Disclaimer: Due to technical issues I was mostly absent from the game during the first 2 weeks of June. Because of this I was unable to keep tabs on political events throughout Null Security space and thus, incapable of publishing reliable Weekly News Recaps. My sincerest apologies to the readers for the absence.
The third week of June has seen some action across the regions of New Eden. While battles continue to rage in Null Security space, some areas have shown a considerable slow down in operations, while others flared for a little and quickly spattered out. This feeling of an apparent indifference can be attributed to CCP opening their sovereignty mechanics competition on the Duality server, coupled with war exhaustion and summer time looming on the horizon. Whether this becomes the trend for the coming months or just a temporary hiccup is yet to be seen.
The North: Fighting between the Vanguard and Geminate coalitions continues, with the two apparently deadlocked in the Etherium Reach region. In The Spire region, however, GemCo has made a few strides, managing to slowly push Intrepid Crossing [IRC] out of the region and grab a foothold. Whether this will allow GemCo to change the tide of the war, or is merely a temporary gain, is yet to be seen.
The East: Things have been heating up in the East, with Test Alliance Please Ignore [TEST] with the assistance of Gentlemen’s.Club [GCLUB] pushing against the Red Menace Coalition, attempting to claim supremacy over Wicked Creek. Pandemic Legion [-10.0] has been involved in the fighting, though some may say to [TEST]’s detriment. [-10.0] itself has been waging its own war against RMC, trying to provoke fights, not always with the best of outcomes though.
The South: The war between Northern Coalition. [NC] and Providence Bloc heats up again, with the former making several large strides in the region. Medium to large sub-capital clashes occur almost daily in the region now. In Querious, Guardians of the Galaxy coalition continues to battle Elite Space Coalition, slowly driving it out of the region, though suffering a few setbacks in the process.
The West: The war between Black Legion. [MEN.] and HERO Coalition continues, though [MEN.] has stopped expanding and instead, has been mainly busy fortifying its gains. HERO Coalition on the other hand, seems to be in trouble, with talks of internal strives and declining fleet participation. So far it has been unable to recover most of its lost moons and systems, the war seemingly won by [MEN.].

With FozzieSov looming steadily over the horizon, the Duality server open for players to experiment with the new sovereignty mechanics and the carnage of the past 2 months catching up to people, it is no wonder the past week saw a slow down in activity. The strain of week after week of system grinds and large scale battles seems to have taken its toll on many alliances, membership participation dropping as a result. Yet, both the Drone Lands, Querious and the Providence regions continue to see conflict on an almost daily basis. With 3 weeks left to FozzieSov, it is possible we’ll see many alliances try for one final push, utilizing the sovereignty mechanics they are familiar with. This is guaranteed to generate more fights, more destruction and certainly more news!
