While Keepstars are not an overly rare sight, the timing of this one’s anchoring cycle makes it special. This multi hundred billion Upwell structure’s timer opens at approximately 8 AM US East Coast (EST). Now if this were last weekend or next it would be a safe’r’ maneuver. However, this weekend happens to be a 3-day holiday one for the majority of US players.

Eve is Global

For a long time, there were 2 blocks of Eve community. The bulk of the world on Tranquility Server and China on Serenity Server. Before the introduction of the Eve Alpha account system the Serenity Server paused updating and the game has remained the same for the last 2 years. Eve is a game that spans the world. The article AWESOMESAUCE: ROOKS AND KINGS: FIRST LIGHT ON THE FIFTH DAY points to a Serenity Server where all of null sec is controlled by a single group. Between the anvil of a static game and the hammer of station camped, Chinese players see the Tranquility Server as greener pastures.

Final Thoughts

Tranquility Server capsuleers have been dealing with the wide array of time zone issues and regional based holidays since the beginning. Were I in Fraternity shoes, think I would invest more time in understanding the way a global Eve server population create new hurdles. Their enemies didn’t just switch time zones, and Labor Day is not a state secret holiday. As a developer, I am very familiar with the idea that 5 minutes of planning saves hours of development time.
