If you'd like to discuss this dev blog or the contest, you can head on over to this thread on the EVE Online forums!
The t-shirt design contest that we held prior to Vegas was incredibly well received, with over 150 designs submitted.
As we head toward what is already shaping up to be one of the largest EVE Fanfest ever, we want to host another competition and allow you, the EVE Community, to have a direct and creative impact on what products will be offered in the EVE Fanfest Merchandise store, and in the EVE Merchandise Store online in future too.
We’re happy to announce that we’re now opening a contest for pilots to submit their own mouse mat designs to be printed and sold in the EVE Merchandise Store.
Of course, there are prizes on offer – not to mention fame, (or infamy depending on how good or bad your design is) – for whoever can create the best designs.
What are we looking for?
Designs should be 7.75"x8.25" (300 Pixels Per Inch @ 100% Size) with all critical details within 7.5"x8.0". 1 color up to full color, .PSD or .AI files.
The design should consist of imagery that you think will resonate with our community of capsuleers and capture their imagination.
Please bear in mind that for this competition, you can use EVE’s intellectual property in your designs.
The mouse mat itself
The mouse mat has a polyester fabric surface with a natural open cell rubber backing. The inks that print on the mouse mat don’t do metallic or show a ton of brightness.
How do I enter?
All submissions should be sent to [email protected] with “EVE Online mouse mat design” as the subject. The contests runs from February 1st through to February 25th.
How will we choose winners?
A panel of CCP employees, including members from the EVE Online Development team, Community Team and Team TriLambda (our Art team) will then select the three best designs, which will win a selection of prizes. Winners will be announced via community news item on 1 March.
The Prizes:
First Prize:
- Your mouse mat design sold at EVE Fanfest and in the EVE Merchandise Store.
- A copy of the mouse mat (shipping included).
- $100 store credit at the EVE Merchandise Store.
- Signed Limited Edition of “The Art of New Eden”.
- 6000 PLEX.
Second Prize:
- $50 store credit at the EVE Merchandise Store.
- Signed Limited Edition of “The Art of New Eden”.
- 3000 PLEX.
Third Prize:
