The past week in New Eden has supplied plenty of political developments, here are some of them:
The neighboring regions have supplied plenty of headlines in the last few months following Pandemic Horde [REKTD] and Northern Coalition. [NC]’s campaigns to remove local residents Suddenly Spaceships [CYN0] and The Initiative. [INIT.]. The two sides have fought several major battles but it seems the defenders, outnumbered and outgunned, had finally decided to capitulate. Suddenly Spaceships will be leaving the region, possibly regrouping in its old home in Syndicate with Pandemic Horde not interfering with the evacuation while The Initiative. will be making a tactical retreat and deploy instead to the Querious region held by its allies. This will undoubtedly be used by The Initiative. pilots as a much needed rest and resupply as the months after months of fighting.
Triumvirate. [TRI] continues its campaign against Guardians of the Galaxy (GotG) coalition, targeting renters and smaller groups within it. The alliance even managed to snatch an outpost from GotG forces and has been harassing renters with a covert ops campaign. It seems Triumvirate. as though Triumvirate. is not willing to back down yet in what has become a bloody and personal feud.
The Drone Regions Federation (DRF)’s great push into the Tenal region as retaliation for League of Unaligned Master Pilots [LUMPY]’s attacks on the Cobalt Edge region has ended with nothing to show for it. After what seemed like a great start showing no less than three DRF fleets coordinating against League of Unaligned Master Pilots and Pandemic Legion [-10.0] in the battle of SF-XJS devolved quickly to small fleet engagements with League of Unaligned Master Pilots seizing the initiative and exploiting its experience in medium sized fleet warfare. So far it seems the DRF has once again been reduced to a defensive position.
The war in the area continues to burn brightly. While the Heathen coalition saw a reduction in territory following Vanguard (VG) coalition’s invasion and The Bastard Cartel [TBC] and Manifesto. [.M.] strengthening their hold on Scalding Pass, alliances such as Bright Side of Death [BSOD] and Fraternity. [FRT] continue to resist hostile attempts to conquer more territory. The latest to join the fray has been Phoenix Federation (PF) coalition led by Fidelas Constans [FCON] which seems set on expanding into the Wicked Creek region much to the chagrin of local defenders. A recent development saw Goonswarm Federation [CONDI] forces get involved in the fighting.
The three regions have become linked together thanks to Pandemic Legion’s deployment to the Curse region and its constant assault on the other two regions. Both PF and Legacy coalition forces have come under attack by the alliance, forcing several battles over engineering complexes. The two alliances which seem to have suffered the most recently have been Tactical Supremacy [TIKLE] and Dangerous Voltage [DV] who together form the Tactical Voltage (TV) coalition. The two have met Pandemic Legion in almost daily clashes, though managing for the most part to prevail against the aggressor. Another group working in the Catch region has been the Goonswarm Federation Special Interest Group (SIG) Space Violence which had been attacking Legacy coalition assets and renters in the area, even operating in the neighboring region of Impass.
The Providence region sees a new deployment to the region, this time by WAFFLES. [N0MAD]. The alliance, with the aid of Pandemic Legion, had engaged the Providence Bloc coalition in a series of fights, the latter taking the initiative several times and reinforcing WAFFLES. assets. However with Pandemic Legion supporting WAFFLES. in the endeavor, Providence Bloc finds itself limited in its engagement ability thanks to the looming threat posed by Pandemic Legion.
Stain Wagon (SW) coalition remains alive and kicking in the Stain region. The coalition had been checked by Test Alliance Please Ignore [TEST] and the two sides have been involved in a constant war over infrastructure in the region. Test Alliance Please Ignore has attempted to destroy several of Stain Wagon’s assets including citadels and towers over valuable moons which prompted a few major brawls. Stain Wagon has been relying on aid from Red Menace (RMC) coalition as the two worked together in several battles to match Test Alliance Please Ignore’s numbers.
Another week and two new raids conducted by Pandemic Legion in the Delve region. Goonswarm Federation lost two super carriers and 34 Rorqual industrial capital ships to Pandemic Legion forces who continue to haunt the region. In one raid Pandemic Legion manged to destroy the 34 aforementioned Rorquals, achieving a record that is unlikely to be broken. Goonswarm Federation did manage to destroy many of the assailants but it did so in previous engagements with no result. It seems Pandemic Legion continues to be emboldened by its success in the region and will not stop in the foreseeable future. It is only left for speculation when the next attack will occur.
