Hello and welcome to a new segment on EVE News24 derived from the War Room podcast and the Battle Report Round Up. In this hopefully weekly report I’ll try to keep readers up to date on the battle lines of New Eden, areas of conflict and other events.
The-Culture [-T C-] solidifies its control of the region after ousting LowSechnaya Sholupen [LSH] by deploying a Keepstar citadel. With the structure successfully online, The-Culture has further entrenched itself in the area and will likely be hard to contest in future invasions.
Cloud Ring continues to be heavily contested. Suddenly Spaceships [CYN0] has been fighting Pandemic Horde [REKTD] to a stalemate. With the latter bringing more and more allies into the war such as Guardians of the Galaxy (GotG) coalition, Mercenary Coalition [MC], Northern Coalition. [NC] and Pandemic Legion [-10.0] to name a few, Suddenly Spaceships had been forced to rely on outside help as well. Even so the alliance managed to persevere but with much of its infrastructure and sovereignty reinforced, it seems to be only a matter of time before the numerical superiority of Pandemic Horde and allies drive the defenders out of the region.
Northern Coalition. and Mercenary Coalition continue their scramble for The Initiative. [INIT.] moons in the region. The Initiative. had been resisting as well, the two sides trading blows. However even with a successful defense of its staging Fortizar citadel in the X-M2LR system, The Initiative. seems ready to cut its losses and make a temporary retreat from the region. Whether the alliance truly deploys to the Stain region or returns instead to its old haunt of the Curse region is yet to be seen. With Pandemic Legion currently deployed to the Curse region, the alliance might opt to deploy closer to its allies Goonswarm Federation [CONDI].
Triumvirate. [TRI] continues its campaign against GotG. What was supposed to be a limited friendly war has turned into a feud as Triumvirate. wages bloody war on the inhabitants of Branch. According to sources in Triumvirate., the alliance had deployed to the Venal region to have a friendly campaign against GotG forces only to face overwhelming numbers and have its own infrastructure come under attack. Thus started an ugly spat which seems to have no clear end in sight.
League of Unaligned Master Pilots [LUMPY] had lately come under attack from Drone Regions Federation (DRF) forces. The alliance and residents of the region had been harassing Cobalt Edge inhabitants and making probing attacks into the region. This forced DRF forces to defend the area time after time and rebuff the efforts. It seems that the coalition had enough and sought retribution. A massive battle saw several DRF fleets attack a deploying League of Unaligned Master Pilots’ Fortizar in the SF-XJS system. With DRF stepping up its operations and bringing more forces to bear, the region may soon find itself under an all out assault by vengeful DRF forces.
The buffer region of Wicked Creek has come under attack from Vanguard (VG) coalition forces recently, forcing several of its residents to retreat. The details are murky at best but include animosity between several individuals and corporations spiraling into an all out conflict. VG forces had been successful in driving out one of the main alliances which promptly left the area but is unclear whether they’ll continue to expand their hold on the region or be content with what they conquered. It is important to note that some of the residents of the region maintain close contacts with alliances such as Northern Coalition..
The region of Catch continues to act as a battleground for several alliances and coalitions. Currently held mostly by Legacy coalition forces, the region had become the site of daily clashes between entities such as Providence Bloc, Pandemic Legion, Goonswarm Federation and Legacy coalition. The most surprising detail has been a Goonswarm Federation attempt to reinforce a Circle-Of-Two [CO2] Fortizar in the V-3YG7 system. A large armada belonging to the alliance came to push the citadel into its second invulnerability phase. Legacy forces mustered several sub capital fleets but were outclassed by the attackers. Even so a bizarre turn of events saw the Fortizar repaired and Goonswarm Federation suffering unneeded losses in the process.
The Delve region continues to be plagued by Pandemic Legion. The alliance has executed a series of costly strikes against Goonswarm Federation, targeting super capitals and groups of Rorqual industrial capital ships. In the last month the alliance had struck no less than four times. In each incident Pandemic Legion had used disposable fleets with a dreadnought squadron to inflict as much damage as possible. Goonswarm Federation had more often than not been unable to counter these raids due to its main forces either being preoccupied elsewhere or unable to coordinate with the victims.
