Today David Davaham announced the release of a stable version of EVEmail, a slick, faster and easy to use web-based eve mailing app:
Hello Everybody,
Today I introduce to you the first stable version of EVEMail. This version achieves everything that I set out for EVEmail to achieve when I sat down with a Pen and paper and started jotting down the thought in my head that eventually turned into EVEMail. It was after I realized that ESI was going to have the Mail Endpoint and that just got me all kinds of stoked up. Don’t ask; I think it has to do with being a developer. No, I do not believe that EVEMails are that exciting.
This version of EVEMail brings you the ability to perform the following actions via our Web Interface:
– Send and Receive EVEMails
– Reply to EVEMail
– Sort your EVEMail by Mailbox Labels
– Personalize your profile with an Email Address
– Opt into receive new eve mail notifications via your inboxWith this features, I was able to say that I wanted this to be version comfortably.
Now, please do not get me wrong. As I started development on this application, I realized that I wanted to do so much more with it. I slowly worked additional features in, like that character search tool. It started off with you just typing the name in and hoping it was correct….now it is what it is now.
I have a lot more features in store for the EVEMail Web App.
Come along for the ride with me, and help me become a better developer. I mean seriously….what else am I going to, I am a **** PvPer….
Thanks, Guys,

Setting up the app is easy, due being SSO enabled (no pesky API meddling) and the whole system is extremely responsive, especially compared to the sometimes slugging EVE Gate interface.
The EVE SSO login is pretty neat.
The unified inbox is a welcomed addition CCP Games should take note of.
I was pretty surprised about the contact list/character search functionality, albeit not fully intuitive (auto fill would be cool), works great.
When I tried to send Salivan a short email, the system didn’t let me. The reason was the shortness of the message, not sure why.
Well, there you have it, an out of game webmail app. My wishlist would be IMAP integration as the defunct eve-mail.net provided.
Still a great app, and let’s hope development continues.
