This year, the winners of Alliance Tournament XIV were the Tuskers Co., who won a tight victory against Pandemic Legion. Just like every year, their skill and hard work were rewarded with unique ships. We can see that these ships are already racking up some kills, the first one being courtesy of Dancul1001 of
Pandemic Legion, who killed a Tristan class frigate on 2016-10-21 at 1:47 EVE Time.
The Caedes has been a part of 59 kills so far, with the top alliances using it being Pandemic Legion with 40 kills and The Tuskers Co. with 19. Nine of the kills with the Caedes were solo, with five solo kills for the Tuskers Co. and 4 kills for Pandemic Legion.
The First Rabisu kill was made on 2016-10-22 20:53 which saw a Caracal class cruiser killed.
The interesting thing about this kill is that there were 3 AT ships that took part in killing this Caracal. The Rabisu has been a part of 12 kills so far, all of them being scored by Pandemic Legion. There are no solo kills for the Rabisu at time of writing.
Casper24, who is a veteran AT player and often PvP’s in prize ships, agreed to a short interview.
Nickolay Doyrenskii: How does the Caedes feel in combat?
Casper24: The caedes is about as cancerious as they come. I can choose my fights because of the cloak. I can almost 3 cycle the cap of any frigate becuase of the nos/neut bonus. It has the grid to allow the pilot to choose 5mn, 1mn, of even 10mn prop mod depending on his flying style. it has a 40+ km web, which is hugely broken for a frigate, and a decent tank. WIth only 1 gun, its weird to look at, but on the same coin, one gun means u can heat it for ages to around 400dps.
Nickolay Doyrenskii: Are you afraid of losing it? Is the adrenaline rush bigger than usual?
Casper24: When things get hairy ( 3x webbed by a caracal ) yeah the sinking feeling of ” He realized he effed up” hits, but as soon as u engage brain and fight out of the situation, things change to that adrenaline rush, and then ur like a little frat boy telling all his buddies how much i drank last night 😀
When i lost that first moracha – i felt like crap at first, but then went out on my bike and went for a good ride ( at a high rate of speed ) through the mountians – got back into ” oh yer duh, its just a video game ” and headed right back out. But loosing one is never good. But at the end of the day, its just a ship, and to take a page out of the role players book. “A ship needs to die the way it lived, in a big ass freeking fireball of glory”
Nickolay Doyrenskii: What made you start PVPing in AT ships?
Casper24: I started flying Unique ships about 3 years about when bluemelon showed me the light. My first was a moracha, then over the years ive had the pleasure ( and trust )to be able to fly most of them and give them a good ringing out. As they are a drug, about the only things u will find me in these days are slashers ( cause fights are always hard) or AT ships, for the rush. Bitter old vet of 13 years has kicked in, and thoes are about the only fun things for me ( Besides loosing AT’s)
Nickolay Doyrenskii: Is there something you want to say to our readers?
Casper24: I wanna yell at all the dumbys who have AT ships, and wont fly them, yeah u know who u are. Best and must fun ships in the game are sitting in ur hanger doing jack all 😛 Poke me if u need help fitting or flying to choosing the right time to use them! Oh and just to start some salt flowing – just a shout out to all thoes who think using AT ships is “small balling” (- zarvox2016) Lets see u out in anything 120b+ leting someone shoot at it.
Nickolay Doyrenskii: Thank you for your time !
Casper24: The pleasure is mine 🙂
Special thanks to Casper24 for this interview, here’s to hoping we see more interesting use of AT prize ships.
