The Spam 4 Heals organization has been built from the ground up to be there for people in their time of need and spread the message that “You Matter!” We are very proud to have grown out of the amazing community of Eve Online who recognized the losses they were suffering from losing friends and loved ones to suicide. The support network that has been built out of Broadcast 4 Reps through in game channels, Reddit, Facebook, YouTube and so many other individual sources has been incredible to see. It is not just these larger groups with open channels for help, but all of the players, corporations, and alliances, helping their fellow gamers in their time of need that made the Broadcast 4 Reps movement what it is today.
Unfortunately, it seems as though there are a few individuals that have tried to take advantage of this situation in order to profit either monetarily or with ISK. While this is abhorrent and is never something we want to see happen, the response from the Eve Online community to rise up and shower the supposed parties with kindness and support has been incredible. Donation drives, YouTube videos, and individual shows of support from the community at large makes us at Spam 4 Heals so very proud to play a small part in this amazing community.
While, there has been some discussion that the ongoing efforts of Broadcast 4 Reps and its benefits, Spam 4 Heals is not going anywhere, the support system that was created and supported through the time and generosity of individual gamers from around the world is extraordinarily humbling. We will keep our chat rooms open and have members standing by ready to help at all hours of the day to help anyone who needs it. Spam 4 Heals and Broadcast 4 Reps are not just a place for mental health support, the community is here as a peer support network so we can all help each other through the rough times, to help others before they might consider suicide. The community will continue to be there for those in their hour of need, to support them and get them to a place where they can receive the professional help they need. We are not the solution to any problems, but we work with everyone to help them get to a place where they can find their own solution.
We are not professionals, we are not a replacement for doctors, counseling, or medication. What we do offer to anyone who needs it, is a place to be heard. So many of us have felt like nobody would miss us if we were gone, or the world would be better off without us. Spam for Heals is here to tell you that is not true! Each and every person is unique and awesome in their own way, nobody can replace you, and we don’t want to see you go. Please, if you are having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, reach out to someone! It doesn’t have to be the Spam 4 Heals or Broadcast 4 Reps communities, it could be a corpmate, a friend, a loved one, a professional help service, or whomever else you feel comfortable talking to. But please, reach out for help! Spam 4 Heals is here to stay and help in whatever way we can, we are going to support you in whatever way we can along your path forward!
