The War in Heimatar: An Update

February 3, 2016

The war between Did he say Jump [JMP-N] and Dead Terrorists [IKILU] has been raging on for the better part of two months. The two sides have traded many blows, with fighting occurring nearly daily and allies called for both sides on a regular basis. The two sides have been battling over the moons in and around the Heimatar region, previously owned by Dead Terrorists but later on, in a surprise move, flipped to FETID [FETID]’s side who then allied itself with Did he say Jump.

This move saw the formation of a coalition nicknamed “Good Guys Coalition” (GGC for short) which included alliances and corporations such as Did he say Jump, FETID and Empyrean Bulwarks [EAWR.]. The GGC then launched an all out assault on the remaining Dead Terrorists towers, with Dead Terrorists attempting and failing to hold the line against the onslaught.

However, long time ally of Dead TerroristsĀ Shadow Cartel [SHDWC], which has helped the alliance numerous times during the war, decided to fully commit to aiding its ally. The alliance had moved in its entirety to the Bleak Lands region, including heavy assets such as numerous super capitals. With Shadow Cartel now close to its ally and able to fully support both the defense of remaining Dead Terrorists towers as well as an all out offensive, the course of the war changed again.

In a long and arduous process, Shadow Cartel and Dead Terrorists managed to push back the GGC, reclaiming many towers and putting the coalition on the defensive. Dead Terrorists in particular managed to rebound from its losses, as in the early stages of the war its fleet participation was low with talks of several prominent corporations in the alliance considering defection. This turned to be false and predictions of a collapse within two weeks of the tower flip proved erroneous.

Instead, Dead Terrorists seems to have been revitalized by the war, with its fleet participation numbers on the rise and the loss of the towers alleviated by massive ISK investments in the alliance by its leadership. On the other hand, the same could not be said for the GGC, as FETID in particular suffered from exhaustion and low morale as its pilots were forced to fight daily over towers. Whats more, Dead Terrorists and Shadow Cartel timed the reinforcement timers for FETID’s weakest time zone, which further contributed to the attrition experienced by its pilots.

Facing declining fleet numbers and near constant grind, FETID’s leadership decided to take the only course of action available and withdraw from the war. The alliance as a whole retreated from the area, taking refuge in the Molden Heath region in order to recuperate and re-build.

Did he say Jump has also suffered a bit of internal turmoil as a spat in leadership between its executor and main fleet commander, Predator Elite, and the rest of the leadership resulted in a growing divide between the two. Though Predator Elite refused to comment, sources claim he urged the alliance to abandon the campaign and retreat from the region following the recovery of Dead Terrorists and the full deployment of Shadow Cartel. However, it seems that the rest of the leadership and the member base itself refused to do so, preferring instead to continue and fight.

This in turn led to a change in leadership, as Predator Elite was dismissed from his position and a new executor appointed – Dun Bar. Though sources claim that Predator Elite will continue to support the alliance, it is unclear whether or not this move will have negative repercussions on the alliance in the future, considering everything.

At the moment, it seems Dead Terrorists and Shadow Cartel have reclaimed most of the towers with the tide of the war swinging decidedly to their side and the GGC seemingly on the defensive. However with the current state of the allies in the coalition, it is unlikely to be able to stem the tide.

And yet, as seen before, everything is still open in this war and the GGC may still make a surprising comeback, as Did he say Jump seems willing to keep on fighting Dead Terrorists and Shadow Cartel to the end. EVE News 24 will keep you updated on the status of the war.
