EVE was games from geeks to the geeks. There is no doubt about that, spaceships, heavy emphasis on lore and a very complicated mechanics that needed a passion and dedication to understand. During game lifetime CCP provided us with all the things, that geeks love. Awesome trailers, superb Fanfests, hardcore Tournaments, gadgets and books. What else could developers of our game provide, that would speak to our inner child? The answer is obvious. Comics!
On 7 day of October, CCP proudly annouced a new comic mini-series about EVE Valkyrie. Its not a new innitiative, since CCP worked together with Dark Horse Comics in the past. The birth childs of that co-operation was EVE: True Stories, EVE: Source and EVE: Universe – The Art of New Eden. While the first one, was focused on real stories that happend in the game and was gathered from players, the second two was mostly dedicated books about EVE online as a game.
The new Valkyrie comic is going to have its own plot and tell us a story in 4 part comic miniseries! CCP hope to promote their new game this way and also capture unique climat of dystopian New Eden. The writer of on-going series is Brian Wood, the experienced author that worked for big companies, like DC, Marvel and now Dark Horse Comics.
