Early this morning, Nulli Secunda lost two Titans piloted by tiberius79p and Shadow867 Koraka at the hands of Pandemic Legion and in Lowsec system of Ajna in Aridia.
Pandemic Legion (PL) scouts noticed that Nulli Secunda had begun moving 3 titans and a couple of super carriers. Quickly doing some research PL identified they were most likely to be moving to Ajna where Nulli owned a POS. A PL cyno ship was quickly scrambled to 1 jump out of Anja with the objective of jumping into system, warping to the Nulli Cyno as soon it was lit and intercepting the fleet as they made their jump. With the trap set the wait began.
It didn’t take long before the Nulli Secunda supers and titans started to decloak and they made their jump. However the Nulli’s cyno had been cautious and used a suicide cyno. A suicide cyno is essentially a ship where the self destruct is activated and in the last few seconds of the countdown the cyno is lit. The ships jump to the cyno and shortly after the cyno ship, along with its globally visible beacon, explodes. Unless the PL scout was quick it would miss the opportunity to warp to the beacon to catch the ships before they had the chance to warp out.
In the time it took for the PL scouts to give word to the cyno pilot that Nulli had lit their beacon and that the titans had jumped out the suicide cyno was already dead. The PL scout had missed its opportunity by mere seconds, undeterred, the scout scanned the system with probes.
To his surprise he saw that Nulli had used a spot that was just off grid of their POS. He clicked his D-SCAN to see if everything had made it to the POS safely, but the results where different from what he expected – The three titans that they had seen earlier were missing. He hadn’t seen them on D-SCAN or on the probe results, but all three pilots were still in local. As titans cannot cloak within a POS’s protective shield it meant only one thing; the titans were not in the POS and had cloaked up in the location they jumped to.
PL FC’s quickly scrambled a fleet of Sleipnir’s and Heavy Interdiction Cruisers. When they arrived at the Nulli cyno location the order was given to burn around in hopes that they would decloak the titans. This must have been one scary sight for the Nulli Secunda titans who were hoping that they wouldn’t be decloaked while quickly preparing an out cyno . PL’s efforts however paid off as they de-cloaked two of the titans. The Third titan who was cloaked had bought just enough time to regenerate his capacitor and for the out cyno to go up. He decloaked and quickly jumped out to safety.
Knowing that they had control of the field, PL decided to drop the hammer and brought in a total of 24 titans and 52 supers, killing the titans in only a matter of minutes. Knowing they were doomed, both Nulli titans doomsday’ed each other in an attempt to limit the damage being done to their killboards.
