On the 8th of August, just after downtime, the final four hours of the AU time zone tournament Oceanic Assault will take place. The culmination of two nights of fighting over the last four weeks has seen the initial pool of 256 pilots whittled down to just 30 pilots. Over the four hours after downtime these remaining few will fight it out to be crowned the first Oceanic Assault tournament champion.
Along with an assortment of PLEX and Cash, the winner will be automatically entered into the 1v1 Cruiser fight in EVE Downunder. The finals will be streamed directly from CCP’s twitch stream at: http://www.twitch.tv/ccp/profile
The tournament has seen the meta of pilots from round two flying mainly kiting heavy missile Caracals. There were some exceptions; the most well-known being Gramps Pljugi duel tanked Arbitrator which bravely fought for almost ten minutes against a Moa, but eventually lost.
