In great keeping with Eve News 24 tradition of not being consistent with weekly serials – The Eve Online Weekly Video Round up is back after a month break. So it’s that (overdue) time of the week where I have spent hours upon hours of trawling through YouTube to bring you the BEST (well, in my opinion anyway) videos that the Eve Community has to offer. So here we go!
#1 EVE Online – Should You Use Auto-Targeting Missiles?
JonnyPew is back in great form after a period of intermittent video releases and has recently started producing regular and longer videos than he used to exploring some interesting and different aspects of Eve Gameplay in attempts to find methods of playing the game that don’t confirm to the usual ‘meta.’ In this particular video JonnyPew may have actually found a use for the much maligned Auto-Targeting Missiles.
#2 EVE ONLINE [PVP] Fetid vs SSC
I will confess, when I started watching this video I started to drift away looking for the next one to watch. It felt like the longest period of time all I was watching were some dudes camping the Rancer Gate trying to catch haulers and other unwary travelers. However as any camper knows, it’s a bit like fishing, sometimes a really big fish comes along, you just have to hope you have the tackle to deal with it…
#3 Eve Online – A Final Salute o7
The Eve community, despite its reputation for being hostile and potentially sociopathic, is quite often the reverse. The hours people spend playing internet spaceships is a strong one and when one is lost for whatever reason that may be, it is felt hard by friends who may have never actually met in person. This week we lost a fellow capsuleer by the name of Robyn Aurilen. Her well wishers have compiled a tribute video. If you also wish to leave a message of condolence to her family you can do so on the reddit post here.
#4 Cap Dead Warping – How to Approach Dangerous Gates
Usually creating safe spots for gates is a fairly easy process, take fast ship, fly to a celestial to allow you to d-scan to see if it’s safe, warp to gate at range, burn out to 150km+ and make your tactical repeat until you have something you like to use. But what about if the gate you’re wanting to go to has no celestial object near it to which you can use to d-scan? What if you’re in a slow ship and warping to a gate at range to only burn out to 150km takes too long? Fear not, because done right, Cap Dead Warping is probably the solution you’re looking for.
Do you have any videos that either you have made or watched that you think are particularly good? If so, please feel free to submit them to me on twitter @TiberiusStarGaz or via in game mail, until next week!
