The first week of July saw little in the way of action in New Eden, partly due to the lack of coverage. However, it was big on announcements and news concerning the Null Security coalitions. With FozzieSov merely a week away, it seems most large scale operations have ground down to a halt. Which makes this summary much more about the politics of New Eden, rather than the actual battles.
The North: Fighting between the Imperium and Out of Sight [OOS] continued in Venal. The campaign headed by Circle-Of-Two [CO2] have encountered setbacks that are costing Imperium forces many Capital and sub-capital fleets, as Pandemic Legion [-10.0] and [OOS] forces continue to fight a guerrilla war against the invaders. More and more Imperium alliances have been forced to contribute to the ongoing campaign, with little pay off; calling into question the ability of an entity such as the Imperium to dislodged established alliances in NPC Null Security space.
In the Drone Lands, peace has concluded between Triumvirate. [TRI], SOLAR FLEET [SOLAR] and Legion of xXDEATHXx [X.I.X]. Although this seems to spell the end of the war between the Geminate Coalition (GemCo) and the Vanguard Coalition, it is certain that without the two most prominent entities, there is little military strength left in Vanguard Coalition. As more details slowly surface, the fate of the Drone Lands will be made much clearer.
The East: Test Alliance Please Ignore [TEST] deployed to the Fountain region, with the war over Wicked Creek seemingly won. This was largely due to [-10.0] involvement and rumored internal problems in the Red Menace Coalition (RMC). Though only speculations, time zone differences and the proximity to [-10.0]’s staging posed huge challenges to RMC, which [TEST] used to its full advantage.
The South: The Providence region has settled once again into its usual intermittent peace time. Northern Coalition. [NC] forces have deployed to the Curse region, dropping all the sovereignty they gained in nearly two months of heavy fighting which in turn allowed Providence Bloc to reclaim the lost systems. While the threat of the impending Imperium invasion still looms overhead, pilots of Providence Bloc have been given a brief breather from the constant drum beat of war.
The fighting in Querious and Delve continued in earnest. The war has drawn more and more entities into the fray, including Nulli Secunda [S2N] who are deploying to Querious and joining Guardians of the Galaxy (GotG) coalition. This has led some to rename GotG to D.U.M.P.S.T.E.R.C.O (Delve’s Ultimate Multi-Person Strategic Talent Exchange & Resource Collection Operation). The name has thus far been taking hold in the mainstream. DUMPSTERCO and Elite Space Coalition (ESC) continued to clash over the fate of Querious, with DUMPSTERCO losing Super Carriers and Capital Ship Assembly Arrays to ESC, which has frequently been backed by [-10.0] forces.
In Catch, The Kadeshi [THOR], a member alliance of DUMPSTERCO, has suffered setbacks in the Catch region. So far Against ALL Authorities [-A-], backed by [-10.0] has been contesting [THOR]’s control of systems. [-A-] managed to take EX6-AO without a fight. The system held little strategic value to [THOR] but appeared to demonstrate [THOR]’s lack of ability to contend with [-A-] on its own as DUMPSTERCO forces are heavily occupied in Querious currently.
The West: The Fountain war between Black Legion. [MEN.] and HERO Coalition ended with the [MEN.] claiming victory. HERO Coalition dissolved after a string of internal disputes and power struggles led the coalition’s main alliance, Brave Collective [BRAVE], to ruin. In order to salvage the situation, [BRAVE] is evacuating the region, heading to an uncofirmed low security space system in order to rebuild. In Fountain, it is expected that [MEN.] will take the remaining systems for its own.
In Cloud Ring, the IronBoard Coalition, composed of Iron Armada [FLEEP] Lethal Intent. [L3THL] and Usurper. [USURP] have been waging a war against I Whip My Slaves Back and Forth [J4LP] over control of the region. [J4LP] lost most of their territory, limiting their control to two constellations only. SpaceMonkey’s Alliance [SMA] has stepped in to help. Things were further complicated when WAFFLES. [N0MAD], [-10.0]’s feeder alliance joined the fray, taking a constellation of its own which added to the mayhem.
The first week of July saw two of the major wars that occupied the front pages of EVE news sites end. [MEN.] triumphed in Fountain and the Drone Lands war came to a surprisingly peaceful resolution. Even the Providence incursion reached an end, with [NC] forces moving away to the Curse region, abandoning the conflict entirely. While war continued to rage in Querious and Cloud Ring, the large power blocs in New Eden are settling down to await the incoming sovereignty mechanics changes. With only a week left to the implementation, the promise of pandemonium breaking loose has made most Null Security space alliances hunker down and anxiously await the changes. This has caused activity in Null Security space to reach all time lows.
Editor’s Note: The name D.U.M.P.S.T.E.R.C.O was first thought of and conceived by Elise Randolph, of Habitual Euthanasia, Pandemic Legion and full credit goes to him.
