The stats for the Jackdaw, the new Caldari Tech 3 destroyer have just been announced. More than likely this ship will take the server by storm, just as its brothers the Svipul and the Confessor did. In fact, below you can see a testament to the effectiveness of T3 destroyers.
Having gained huge popularity, these ships can be fit in a variety of different ways to punch above their weight class. They can outrun almost anything in their Propulsion mode, thanks to 66.6% bonus to ship velocity. This makes them extremely hard to fight with skillful piloting. These ships are a solo PvPer’s dream and there have been some great videos showing this.
The preliminary stats of the Jackdaw have just been released. The full thread can be found here and stats are below:

The most interesting thing in my opinion is the propulsion mode bonuses. It becomes more agile when in propulsion mode rather than having a flat bonus to speed. This in concert with the gimped powergrid, only 56 compared to the Confessor’s base 80 will make fitting an oversized propulsion mode difficult. CCP does not want this ship to simply fly away from the enemy and shred them with missile but rather rely more on pilot skill and superior agility to keep range. Also lower than the base stats for the other T3’s is the capacitor. This is to be expected as being a missile boat does not use as much as say lasers.
In the world of damage it can fit 5 missile launchers with a role bonus of 50% damage for both Light Missiles as well as Rockets. In addition to this it gets a 5% bonus per Tactical Destroyer level to Rate of Fire. In total this gives it 10 effective missile launchers to do damage with. In order to project these 10 turrets when in Sharpshooter mode the missiles get a 66.6% bonus to velocity. Due to the way that missiles work this translates to a 66.6% bonus in range.
Also given a fitting bonus like the other T3’s is to a Scan Probe Launcher. With probes out the Jackdaw will be able to scan someone down and then align nearly instantly while in propulsion mode. With a normal sized propulsion mode it will also be able to orbit ships quickly at very close ranges while shredding them with rockets. Do you think this ship will be viable like the other T3’s? Let us know in the comments.
