Ever since abandoning their holdings in the south and being pursued across half of New Eden by Pandemic Legion, Nulli Secunda [S2N] have taken to the life of a mercenary alliance. Working under contract for Legion of xXDeathXx [X.I.X], who has been fighting alongside the Geminate Coalition (Referred to as GemCo) against the Vanguard Coalition’s invasion of the Drone lands, [S2N] started to contribute to the campaign, attempting to combat Triumvirate. [TRI] who is leading the charge in the Etherium Reach region. The 9th of May though, saw huge setbacks to their campaign.
Though Pandemic Legion is currently staging in the Curse region, recent events have proven again and again that there is no place in New Eden that is beyond its reach, as [S2N] would painfully learn on its flesh. In the C-4D0W system, At 19:00 EVE Standard Time, [S2n] met [TRI] in a clash over the WPV-JN gate, as it attempted to re-claim the system for GemCo. The fight started well for [S2N] who fielded a 100 pilot strong Loki Strategic Cruiser fleet, managing to inflict heavy losses to the [TRI] fleet, which was composed mostly of Machariel Battleships, perhaps only 60 pilots big.
Yet Pandemic Legion, who were informed of the timer showed up on the field, jumping into the battle and quickly anchoring up, having brought a 120 pilot strong Ishtar Heavy Assault Cruiser fleet through Wormhole space once again, surprising the [S2N] commanders.
With Pandemic Legion on the field, the [S2N] Lokis were volleyed off one by one, forcing [S2N] to withdraw and allowing [TRI] to remove the hostile Sovereignty Blockade Units deployed in their system, securing it once more.
Battle report for the C-4D0W system can be found here.
The battle saw only 300 pilots in local, with Time Dilation being a non issue, hardly being noticeable. The engagement lasted 20 minutes from start to finish.
During this exchange, [S2N] lost 30 ships, for a total of 7.6 Bil ISK, tying with [TRI] who lost the same number of ships, though for the slightly higher sum of 10 Bil ISK. Pandemic Legion for its troubles lost only 4 ships, but for a total of 1 Bil ISK.
However, this was not the end of [S2N]’s troubles. With [TRI] Sovereignty Blockade Units deployed in the LXQ2-T system, as well as another [TRI] Machariel fleet hanging around, 30 pilots strong, [S2N] was forced to respond, bringing its famous Rattlesnake Battleship fleet, some 40 pilots large, along a Dreadnought and a Triage Carrier. The fleet sat on the PX-IHN gate in the system, removing one of the Sovereignty Blockade Units, when Pandemic Legion forces showed once more, this time in a 70 pilot big Ishtar fleet.
Pandemic Legion first engaged some stragglers in the PX-IHN system, before moving to LXQ2-T and attacking the main fleet. A brief battle was fought on the gate, with [S2N] and Pandemic Legion exchanging losses. However, with Pandemic Legion focusing their fire on the Triage Carrier and destroying it, [S2N] lost their logistic backbone, forcing them to attempt and retreat to the station. Rattlesnakes activated their Micro Jump Drives and attempted to escape, some getting bubbled as they landed off by waiting Interdictors and destroyed, while a good chunk of the fleet managed to dock up safely.
With the Rattlesnakes off the field, attention was focused to a [S2N] Moros Dreadnought which was brought to the field to remove the Sovereignty Blockade Unit. With no escorts, it was dispatch with ease. With no more hostiles left on grid, Pandemic Legion extracted once more to their staging.
Battle report for the LXQ2-T system can be found here.
The battle saw only 200 pilots in local, with Time Dilation playing no factor in the fighting. The Engagement lasted 20 minutes from start to finish.
This skirmish saw [S2N] lose 21 ships, including 2 Capitals, for a total of 12.7 Bil ISK in damages. [TRI] for its part lost 6 ships, estimated at 3.3 Bil ISK of damages. Pandemic Legion 10 ships in the exchange, resulting in 2 Bil ISK of damages.
The two engagements clearly show Pandemic Legion’s dedication to their work, as they have been pursuing [S2N] for the better part of a month, attempting to force it to engage and also give up its space. Even abandoning its holdings and escaping to the Drone regions and taking mercenary work seems to do little in deterring Pandemic Legion, who are still under contract from the CFC (Re-branded as the Imperium) to hunt [S2N]. As [S2N] struggles to fight the Vanguard Coalition on behalf of [X.I.X], it will also have to take into account the Pandemic Legion fleet lurking in the shadows of Wormhole space.
