Yesterday, I wrote an article about the loss of 2 Aeons and a Nyx class Super Carriers, apparently piloted by kriso0 of DARKNESS. [DARK.]. Today I will be discussing the circumstances involved with the loss of 3 Nyx class Super Carriers belonging to the old Northern Coalition. [NC] renter alliance – Northern Associates. [NA.], which was sold to [DARK] following [NC]’s departure from null-sec.
The pilots of the ships in question are Shogun Ruah, pludder’s daughter and Rachel Mika, all from the ABS Ratting [ABS.R] Corporation. They were killed in the system of H74-B0 in Querious, which was recently evacuated and emptied by [NC] following their announced departure from null-sec.
Both contacted parties, the Super Carrier pilots and Confederation of xXPIZZAXx [PIZZA], responded to the requests for information as shown below.
The Super Carrier pilots and their CEO, Alexander Bosskopp Smith, had a collective discussion with myself included, which resulted in the following report:
Basically we were moving ships out of Period Basis because the renters are forming a new coalition and we didn’t want to join it. They are clearly ratting supers anyway which we decided to move to lowsec. On the first evening of the move we had some scanners around all systems so didn’t risk it. The next day we made a jump and as we logged again to move we had a lot of reds come in to local but we made the jump out to H74-B0. There we got safe and cloaked with all 4 supers there for 6 hours.
A [PIZZA] friend of the CEO heard that they were hunting supers in the area and had an alt in corp. He logged it in and joined fleet, warping to all 3 of the Nyxs that he knew of and created bookmarks before giving them to the hostile fc. pludder’s daughter was first to be tackled in a minute and as there were a lot of systems cyno jammed we couldn’t emergency evac.
They have been after us since we started moving and the only thing that led to their success was the alt. We didn’t get probed as they were safe before they even got probes out.
There are a few more things to add to this from [ABS.R]’s perspective:
As written in the above text, There was apparently a 4th ship; a Wyvern class Super Carrier, which wasn’t tackled since the AWOXer didn’t know about its existence. The Wyvern was later sold to Goonswarm Federation [CONDI] for 20B, after it was moved via a twin cyno system in order to confuse [PIZZA].
The original plan, it seems, was to stay in the H74-B0 system until the [PIZZA] fleet left, before jumping out and continuing the arduous trek to low-sec.
[ABS.R] are also in the process of actually disbanding their corporation, though not due to the Super Carrier losses, but rather to the upcoming sov changes, preferring to see how things work before continuing.
Another sore note is that the AWOXer helped them move with cynos in the first place, as not many people are trusted to light cyno chains. It just happened that the guy, who the CEO had apparently known for 2 years, decided that a chance at these kills was worth throwing everything they had done together before this.
Regardless, the individual pilots are not too bothered by their losses, as they have plenty of ISK to replace them, as they are incursion running FCs.
The organizer of the kills for [PIZZA], Stephan Schneider, stated the following:
I was on skype when I saw Sebastien Saintfrusquin mention a few renter supers moving down from PB and that they were cloaked in CX8-6K. I moved there with blue eyes to them and my dictor and met, Jed Stevens who is the person that initially followed them.
Together we started waiting for their next move and figured they’d jump into UEXO-Z from that point since a significant amount of systems were cyno jammed and this was the most plausible option. When their cyno alt entered UEXO-Z local we started positioning on the in-gates next to system but the only problem was that inside of UEXO-Z was a goon AFK and he never stopped being AFK until downtime.
So from 20:00 Eve Time until the next downtime they didn’t move but logged off one by one. We didn’t want to try probing them since we were hoping to catch them all without spooking them. The next day, around 2 hours after downtime they began logging in their eyes in CX8-6K and a few cyno alts as well. When they didn’t move their cyno alt to UEXO-Z this time we started running locators and found out they were moving it to the only Querious system in range, H74-B0.
I was originally confused since the people living there, Fractal Industries [FRAID], have the entire pocket cynojammed so I got one of our cloaky campers to watch the jammer and at that point it all went fairly quickly, our dictors + cynos were on the move towards 49-U6U when their supers all logged in at the same time and jumped.
I had a dictor alt logged off in the system that I was about to log in but to my luck he was un-subbed, so that’s when they got stuck in H74. Collecting a few people to spread around dictors on their next possible jumps I received word from Skeluera Egivand about his ratting alt still being in ABS Ratting. I told him to log it in and check for fleets in the finder and to our luck they had their super fleet in the fucking finder. So with their 3 (didn’t know about a 4th) cloaked in H74 and no friendly POS in system we began moving a covert ship down there and wheniaminspace started forming [PIZZA] dictors.
We bridged in the manticore with the guy in their fleet and he warped to every super pilot we know of and made bookmarks before dropping them on my dictor alt. At the same time we made it visible that we have dictors in the systems they wanted to jump to so they wouldn’t try to escape. We split our dictor fleet into 3 groups and warped each separate group to separate supers. Decloaked them, bubbled and all this while the CFC was informed and already began moving their supercaps down. They then started self destructing and probably thought they could still deny a killmail that way.
This corroborates the previous statements made by [ABS.R]. Clearly the [ABS.R] pilots would have been wise to leave fleet whilst they were waiting for [PIZZA] to clear the system, but obviously they were certain that all the members of the Corporation could be trusted. This goes to show that you can never truly trust someone in EVE, if the opportunity presents itself you just can’t be certain how they will behave.
One final thing to note is that evidently these Super Carriers were filled with a large amount of ISK in items and ships, the most expensive one worth 41 Billion, but even though a large amount dropped no attempt was made to loot them bar one Paladin, as shown in this modified report.
Updated note: The sale of the Wyvern didn’t go to [CONDI] but a The Bastion [BASTN] pilot and was bought for 19.2B not 20B.
