On March 29, 2015, at 16:00 EVE Time, the Stainwagon Coalition began forming a fleet for what we had planned to both be a complete strategic as well as morale victory. Two S2N towers coming out of reinforce within 20 minutes of each other in neighbouring systems L0AD-B and NZG-LF, respectively.
Moments before the timer in L0AD-B exited reinforce, S2N jumped into the system with a fleet of roughly 200, consisting mostly of shield Lokis. In addition, S2N also brought a full wing of forty bombers.
Meanwhile, in 4GQ-XQ, Stainwagon forces began to rally on their titan, boasting a full fleet of Dominixes with triage support. With all S2N forces concentrated already in L0AD, Stainwagon bridged into the second system, NZG-LF and positioned the fleet on the target grid. In addition, Stainwagon anchored Large Mobile Warp Disruptors around its fleet to deter bombers.
After haste-fully repairing the first tower in L0AD-B, the S2N forces entered L0AD-B and positioned themselves off-grid for a direct warp-in on our Dominixes. Moments before the tower exited reinforce, S2N forces made their move.
A short but sweet fight erupted as heavy e-warfare pressure from the Dominixes reduced the effective alpha of the Lokis below sufficient levels to achieve the much needed damage to kill said Domis. This combined with a CFC fleet of around 200 Harpys, sadly, forced the outgunned S2N fleet off the field.
However, as Stainwagon killed the tower, a combined fleet consisting of NC. and BL. Ishtars cynoed on grid at a ping +200km from the Stainwagon Domis. Being significantly smaller than any of the other fleets on grid, the CFC Harpy fleet decided to solo engage them at the ping. Subsequently, the N3 Loki fleet returned to the grid at close range to the Harpys. This resulted in a haste slaughter of the CFC frigates, as they attempted to scatter and flee.
After the S2N POS was destroyed, the Stainwagon fleet disengaged and moved to the safety of the NPC station in system while the triage carriers jumped out of the system. N3 forces promptly began camping the undock. After some deliberation, it was decided that Stainwagon would do what it does best, and fight its way out.
Upon undocking, the Stainwagon fleet was greeted by the S2N Loki fleet. Triage carriers were re-inserted into the system via cyno on the undock. Again, due to the heavy e-war pressure from the Domis as well as the immense repping power of the carriers, the Loki’s were being slaughtered. To remedy this, the S2N Loki fleet pulled range, and soon-there-after brought in a supercarrier fleet consisting of 38 Nyxes and Aeons which promptly destroyed three Stainwagon triage carriers. In return, Nulli’s supercarriers were covered with dictor bubbles, and the Stainwagon Domis used their Micro-Jump-Drives to meet the combined S2N Loki/Supercarrier fleet. Despite losing the triage support, the Stainwagon Domi’s proved to be too much for the dwindling S2N Loki fleet, and were thus forced to leave their supercarriers behind to regroup.
With clear control over the grid, just under 30 of Stainwagon’s signature Wyverns logged in and jumped promptly on to the grid, hoping to gank at least a Nyx before NC. and PL were able to respond in kind. However, only moments after launching their fighterbombers, it became clear to the Stainwagon FC team that it was time to extract. The supercarriers then warped off grid to a safe POS.
However, NC. was prepared, and had dictors already deploying bubbles outside the POS that Stainwagon’s supercarriers were in warp to. This resulted in the Wyverns landing at various distances outside the forcefield. As the supers slowly moved closer to their tower of safety, the various subcap fleets from N3, BL, CFC and Stainwagon began appearing promptly on the POS grid. Just as the Wyverns had either jumped or began to enter into the forcefield, a PL fleet consisting of Armor Machariels, Tempest Fleet Issues, and various support bridged directly on grid. It was clear now that Stainwagon was outnumbered and outgunned. When all supercarriers were safe inside the POS, the Stainwagon Domi fleet extracted from the grid and returned to the safety of the NPC station in system.
However, just as we thought we had finished the evening strong, though ultimately losing the strategic objective as N3 placed a tower without contest despite losing the timer, PL hictor and dictor bubbles began surrounding the POS. As PL Machariels begain entering the forcfield, it became clear that what was most feared had occured. Our POS password was compromised, and around 20 Wyverns were trapped.
While most Wyverns managed to jump out by approaching the middle of the forcefield, one Wyvern piloted by Empatic was not so lucky. By then, all remaining Stainwagon supers were declared safe, the POS password was reset, and the battle was finally over.
