This afternoon, An Erebus piloted by Alexej Stukov died to the hands of LowSechnaya Sholupen in Aridia
It all started at around 05:00 ET with 3Better flying through Yehaba, noticing a Magnate on directional scanner which appeared to be warping around between celestial’s. After checking the magnate’s killboard, 3better found out that this magnate had a history of losing cyno ships.
3better realized that this magnate could be a alt of either a super or a titan pilot but after checking the killboards a bit more no results of any super/titan pilots were found. Still he couldn’t just ignore the signs of this magnate and so he brought in some Heavy Interdictor alts, while calling for assistance from his alliance
Realizing that the Magnate might be spoked by the amount of people in local, he jumped all of his alts out except his main HIC who had combat probes to scan down the possible incoming target. Everything was now set and ready to go and so the wait began.
While waiting the magnate pilot undocked a few times but nothing happened. After hours of waiting 3better had to log off and so a corp mate to took over his position and the wait continued.
Down Time arrived and there was no sign of any activity from the magnate and so the LowSechnaya Sholupen group realized that the magnate would only light his cyno with an empty local.
After Downtime, the magnate logged back in and even undocked so now 3better had to come up with a plan how they could empty out local without missing the right moment. After some debating on the best option they decided to bring a completely neutral character. While this all was happening 3better left local for around 30 seconds or so and looking back at it, this 30 seconds is what made the difference.
A few of LowSechnaya Sholupen capital pilots who were staged in Onanam noticed a new pilot in local. A quick background check on this new pilot made them realized that this was their target, Alexej Stukov.
Now this made it all very easy, because you only have to wait for the moment that the capital pilot, Alexej Stukov would leave local. Yehaba was cleaned and after only a few minutes, Alexej Stukov indeed left local. Immediately after this 3better jumped back into Yehaba, launched probes and warped to the Cyno that was up. While in warp he already started scanning and managed to get a 100% hit after only 3 attempts.
He landed, and nothing was there so he warped over to his first result. Again nothing, while in warp he kept scanning and he managed to get another hit on the Erebus. He warped to this second result but nothing seemed to be on grid, however nothing was on dscan anymore meaning that the Erebus had likely cloaked.
3better moved around for a sec and sure enough decloaked the Erebus. He soon tackled the Erebus while the other Heavy interdictors warped over to him. With the rest of the HIC’s landing, they knew that they where ready to bring in the DPS. With The DPS being super capitals and a dread, It didn’t take long for the Erebus to die.
