Welcome to the fifth article in an ongoing series on EN24 where we will be looking at the ‘small things’ that might not make a full EN24 article but are either funny or interesting enough to share anyway!
We here at EN24 will be running one of these articles once a week after scouring the intel channels and other intel outlets for information to share with you, our readers.
Free Disarmed Concord Ships for Players In Celebration of CSM X!
In a recent dev blog CCP Leeloo laid out the voting process and schedule for the upcoming Council of Stellar Management elections, you can find the full dev blog here.
The list of approved candidates is out now and you can find these here, we will be doing a more in depth look at the candidates in an upcoming feature, so look out for that! The voting for the tenth CSM opens on the 25th February 2015 and closes on the 10th March 2015 and the results will be announced at the EvE Keynote at Fanfest 2015 which takes place between the 19th March and the 21st March.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the CSM elections, CCP will be giving away 10 run Blueprint Copies of the ‘Concord Diplomatic Shuttle’ the first Concord ship which has ever been released for player use. CCP Leeloo announced it on her dev blog;
Now, surprise!
We’ve prepared a couple of gifts to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the CSM elections!
Firstly, meet the Council Diplomatic Shuttle, a decommissioned, disarmed Pacifier-class CONCORD frigate this is now used as armored diplomatic transport. Every active account in EVE will be able to claim this, providing that it is active on the day that voting starts, which is February 25th.
Those who claim this gift will receive 10 run BPC (blue print copy) for this ship in their Redeeming system, so that they can build 10 of the hulls in celebration of the election of the 10th CSM.
For those who are interested, here are the shuttle’s statistics:
And what dev blog would be complete without some shiny pictures?
We wish everyone who is running as CSM X contenders the best of luck with their campaign.
Circadian Seeker gets destroyed after scanning Caldari Navy Customs
We at EN24 are receiving unconfirmed reports that a Circadian Sleeker has been destroyed by a member of the Caldari Navy Customs team in the system of Nomaa. It seems the Circadian Seeker was conducting scans around the area, however when it focused it’s scan onto the vessel of the Caldari Navy, they retaliated by destroying the Circadian craft. Unfortunately our sources were unable to collect any further evidence of the event itself apart from second hand reports.
If this is true it would show a change in policy in regards to the Circadian Seekers in empire space and could indicate an upcoming hostile/defensive action.
Drifters continue to destroy over confident capsuleers.
Since the release of Tiamat and the introduction of the Drifter NPC battleships on the 17th February 2015, confident capsuleers have been attempting to destroy them using a multitude of different ships and tactics.
The first carrier that was destroyed by these Doomsday-esque ‘Lux Kontos’ toting battleships was mentioned in one of my previous articles, which can be found here. Since then a number of other carriers have been lost, including this one worth over 3.2 billion ISK.
In all the Drifters have destroyed around 50 billion ISK in capsuleer vessels and fittings, which, considering they came out just under week ago, is quite a large ISK tally and does not show any sign of abating any time soon. Just today 15 capsuleer vessels have been destroyed by the Drifter faction for a total of around 2.1 billion ISK. You can keep up to date with the Drifters tally by using this kill board link.
It will be interesting to see what happens when CCP actually develop the Drifter story line, will there be a reason or reward for killing them in the future?
Well CCP seem to be building a back story and a character for us to interact with, Tyrannos Strategos, member of the Drifter faction which has it’s headquarters in the 3-CE1R system of the Jovian region A821-A.
The description on the character information is as follows;
By all appearance and indications the Drifters are members of the Jovian Race, albeit far removed and with a strangely altered physiology. The high degree of cybernetic modification that the Drifters exhibit seems to go hand in hand with and implacable single-mindedness and utter ruthlessness while pursuing their mysterious goals. Whatever their ends may be, the technology at their command unquestionably rivals and perhaps even surpasses that which the Jove have been seen to use.
The same questions are asked in any thread about the Drifters.
Why are they here? What is there mission and what do they want? Where are the actual Jovians? Was there some sort of conflict in the Jovian home region and are we meeting the victors? In what way does Carolin’s Star come into the picture? Will these new NPC’s be intractable as mission givers or will they just be red cross content for capsuleers? Do they herald the opening of Jove space?
So many questions unanswered, and so many more I haven’t mentioned.
Will these questions be answered at Fanfest? Beyond? We will have to wait and see. One thing we do know is that CCP has something big planned and we, as capsuleers, are waiting.
Namtz’ aar K’in Wormhole/Anti-Pirate Alliance Closing it doors, leaves gifts for intrepid explorers.
Namtz’Aar K’in, an alliance which has been in the EvE landscape since 2008, have declared that they are going out of business. From the beginning of their existence the alliance has been an anti-pirate organisation, however for the last few years they have been active as a wormhole alliance and inhabited a Class 2 Cataclysmic hole. Smagd, who is a member of the corporation Encina Technologies, recently posted on the EvE Online forums that their tower in J135910 was going to be running out of fuel very soon and that he and his alliance have left a number of goodies which can be looted by the lucky people who find it;
Sigma, fellow spelunkers!
Apparently, Namtz’Aar K’in is shutting down. I haven’t seen anyone active in a few months.
You may have seen our Class 2 Domination Large Tower in well, death-star-ish configuration, sitting in J135910, It has been there since the first day of wormspace in one form or another, and it has served us well. We did several moves to upgrade from medium to large to faction large, each of which I remember painfully. It survived a few sieges, too.
There’s quite a few ships parked there and I thought as a gift to you guys, I’ll simply leave them for you to take.
To whet your appetite, I launched a few carriers inside the force field. There’s at least one hanger with about half a billion of PI stuff in it. I’m not what fittings the sub capitals in the other hangars can offer, but there’s some T2 ships in there and I’d be disappointed if there weren’t any faction modules on those.
To add a little wormhole class fun to the looting, I thought I should announce when the fuel will run out and the tower’s field will go offline:
Our beloved tower named “Prometheus” will go offline around EVT 2015-02-22 22:30 EVT come sunday evening.
I also named the tower to indicate that its fuel will run out at that time.
The tower is naturally still fully armed.
Happy spelunking and I hope to meet you in another hole soon.
Fly far,
Smagd
PS: I’ll be on vacation so I’m hoping for some vids 🙂
According to the EvE online forums, no one has found this POS yet, so if your a wormhole diver, be on the look out for the Prometheus tower mentioned to find some shiny loot which apparently includes capital ships, Planetary Interaction loot and T2 ships with possible faction modules!
Do YOU want to be on EvE TV at FANFEST?
CCP Guard recently announced in this dev blog that EvE TV are offering spots for pilots from New Eden to host their own segment on the channel during Fanfest, to be featured between sessions like keynotes, panels and presentations. This will open the EvE TV channel to a plethora of new content and shows that CCP want to involve their players as fully as possible and make Fanfest as interactive as it can be.
To apply you must be:
- A fluent English speaker. Accents are cool, speaking in long-lost tongues might be a problem.
- Presentable and confident
- Burdened with deep knowledge of New Eden and the community
- Positive and fun-loving
Big bonus points for:
- Media or performance experience – podcasts, streaming, video making, public speaking etc.
If you are going to Fanfest and want to be involved, then please check the dev blog, which can be found here, for details on how to apply.
I personally look forward to this part of Fanfest, the EvE community is a beautiful and very strange entity and putting these people in front of a camera with an audience of their peers to entertain I can foresee some weird and wonderful segments incoming at Fanfest this year.
Well that’s it for this weeks issue of ‘The Small Things’ and I hope you enjoyed it and we shall see you next week for another edition!
