Wednesday, February 18, 2015, we formed an Ishtar fleet to perform the usual routine of farming braves and coaxing a fight. On arrival to GE-8, the HERO staging system located in the heart of Catch, we were greeted with a HERO fleet of Moas and such already undocking to take on a small Gorgon Empire Ishtar gang causing havoc on the station undock. Our arrival on grid forced Gorgon Empire to flee the system promptly due to our superior numbers. However, despite already losing a good chunk of their fleet to our Gorgon brothers, HERO reshipped and undocked once again to take us on. After some chasing around the system, we finally engaged the HERO fleet at an asteroid belt, where Pandemic Legion joined the fray with a small Munnin gang. Again, after losing a good chunk of their fleet, HERO was forced to regroup. Moments later they returned and the fight resumed. This time however, PL decided to focus their attention on us rather than HERO, forcing us to leave the field and regroup. Not long after, the HERO fleet docked and PL left the system. We then camped the undock for a while to great success.
It soon became clear that HERO were not interested in reforming to fight us. Therefore we headed to curse, where we met a gang of T1 cruisers, which were promptly destroyed. After visiting G-0Q86, The Initiative’s staging system, we began our trip back to Stain as they didn’t seem interested in a fight.
However, along the way, we met a significantly larger ProviBloc gang in Shield Battlecruisers in V-3YG7. Tired after 4 hours of intense action, and greatly outnumbered, our FC decided that this would be our final battle. The fight ensued with ProviBloc taking rapid losses while unable to apply any damage to the speedy Stainwagon Ishtars. ProviBloc bombers attempted to sway the tide but ultimately failed. After a fairly long brawl (and several sets of drones lost), I was contacted by corebloodbrothers, the FC of the ProviBloc fleet (we were still fighting at this point so it was pretty funny… at least for me). He informed me of a HERO Caracal fleet and proposed a ceasefire so we can focus on them. We agreed, scooped our drones, and made our way to the GE-8JV gate.
On the other side, the HERO fleet was waiting on a ping spot. We quickly probed them down and warped to them at 0 km. The HERO fleet attempted to warp off however several of their Scythes were caught by a skilled Stainwagon Dictor. In a futile attempt to save their Scythes, the HERO fleet warped back and proceeded to die very quickly. The ProviBloc fleet jumped and warped in soon-there-after, forcing the HERO fleet to flee to their station. This ultimately did not save them as PL were camping the station with a drag bubble.
There were no survivors. No survivors…
