Today, Pandemic Legion‘s fishing crew successfully killed another Avatar in the low sec system of Nakah.
The story behind this kill is that a scout had noticed an Avatar sitting in Nakah in space, piloted by Aman Sul. The scout tried to probe the Avatar, however it logged off before he managed to get results with his probes. The scout, John Blathos, was a member of a WH corp, and so staying to watch this Avatar was not an option. He decided to contact the RekkingCrew, PL’s fishing crew, who quickly responded by putting some scouts of their own into system.
Two weeks passed, and nothing happened, until today. The Avatar logged in and not long after, the first PL prober, RoCKet X successfully acquired a 100% result. Upon warping to the location he landed at zero.
The Avatar pilot must have been scared by the sight of the prober landing on his grid because he logged off, hoping that would save him from being harmed. Sadly for him, the PL prober carried a gun and aggressed the Avatar, giving him an aggression timer which prevented him from vanishing from space until 15 minutes had passed (which is extended once again following any further aggression in that period).
A HIC alt, who had been logged off in the system, logged in and acquired the first tackle. Due to the fact that the Avatar was logged off it gave PL enough time to move the rest of their fleet in range of the system. The first three of the titans to land lit their doomsdays, expecting the target to remain in low armor – allowing others to land and get onto the killmail to mark their place on the kill. The titan was however almost entirely unfitted, and easily succumbed to the might of the incoming firepower.
The Titan had no tank fitted and with three doomsday’s hitting him all at once, he stood no chance in surviving.
This follows the loss of the recently killed leviathan earlier this week in Arton. It will be interesting to see how long it will take for the next one to grace the killboards of New Eden!
