As we made our way back to Stacmon after our “stress test”, we discovered that our merry band had suddenly come of age in the eyes of some of the local alliances and the courtship began. Bane was an excellent diplomat and negotiator, he always seemed to be able to come out on top of any situation where negotiation was required. Among the alliances actively seeking our membership was the Wreckless. alliance, a group of guys based out of the system of Harroule that we had run into a couple of times during our stress test in Syndicate. Bane wasn’t too sure about how long we would actually be joining them for, but their numbers and experience was needed to help groom our members into a formidable force.
Its became clear immediately after our first fleet with the new alliance that they had almost no professionalism among them, yes this is a video game, and yes people play this with their free time to wind down, but this amount of immaturity and blind leadership is why we eventually left on terrible terms, and the alliance itself crumbled. Our fleets of frigates had more structure and efficiency than their capital fleets, with everyone on yelling at each other and cursing one another on coms constantly, it is no wonder that their capitals were easy pickings for the larger organizations. Here a members was playing station games with dreads… (https://zkillboard.com/kill/39230696/). And here the fleet tried to see who could bump the carrier out quicker while a covert ops ship was waiting nearby (https://zkillboard.com/kill/39303837/).
Not to take away from bane’s amazing FC skills, but he was named alliance FC within the second week of our corporation joining. The leadership was awful and our whole corp wanted out. It was at this point that our colorful characters inside the corporation that made it special, Dustey Chinguatles, Lando Vorton, Chris Semah, and David Glashnost all approached bane and confirmed that it was time to move on from Wreckless. To our surprise, bane had already sent a mail to the alliance leader (who was a clown) informing him of our departure and hopeful of an amicable parting of ways. I will divulge from the story for a second to point out that even though these corporation members I listed may not be 8 years old and gray-haired from their expericances in eve, I would have rather flown with them any day over some of the arrogant FC’s and leaders in the big block alliances I have had the “pleasure” of flying with. Now back to the story, after our departure from the idiot’s alliance, we decided to run solo for a while, back to our small gang hit and run style of fighting. This was effective until Wreckless. soured on losing their top FC I guess, or maybe the fact that they knew the inevitable demise was near and they only wished to lash out at those who saw it coming first. Either way, it made life in placid low sec difficult with the constant blobbing of our frigates and cruisers.
So bane, instead of giving in and fading away into the black hole of eve’s dead corps, devised a plan for a deployment to the Solitude system of Meunvon. Before our departure for Meunvon bane attempted to set up relations with some of the locals like Did he say Jump. Bane spoke with Predator Elite, a players known far and wide for his blind arrogance and disloyalties. Predator asked us to merge our corp into his, which we were clearly unwilling to do, or we would be another target that he would hunt. Once we were told this, it made our deployment a little more exciting, so we made the contracts to black frog logistics, and switched our clones to the system. While we were there, we would be setting up a passive income base for the corporations going forward, bane’s wallet was getting thin from buying us all ships and modules after losses. Once we moved in, we noticed 2 systems over there was a massive neighbor coming to join us in solitude as well, Black Legion. Bane immediately began talks with the corporation that was spearheading the Solitude, Tempest Legion.
