Just moments ago, it was brought to our attention that a mail had gone out to Brave Collective on EveSkunk, in which Motre, former Military Director of BRAVE, announced his departure. This mail was sent out on an alt of his and is shown below.

Sent:2015-01-14 22:03:00Many of you know who I am. For those that don’t, I am Motre. I have been with BRAVE for a long time, since the Hek days. I am the former MilDir of BNI and BRAVE, I was one of the people who helped shape BNI and BRAVE in their youth. BRAVE/BNI were something different in the universe of EVE. BNI, later BRAVE, was a place I could settle into and stay with for the rest of my EVE time, the ideals of BRAVE/BNI were ones that I agreed with and believed in. Sadly, however, as time changes so too does that statement.
I will be leaving this organization, this home that I have known, because I can no longer stand behind the ideals that the current organization supports. The ideals of now are not the ideals that I came here for, nor are they the ideals I stayed here for.

What changed? I don’t know. All I can say is I still believe in the same core concepts that started BNI. That started BRAVE. Those concepts that I only see here as face paint to play nicely and attract new members to this organization. Those ideas have been taken and instead of being a focus for BRAVE exist only to serve as a tool to an end.
Shortly after I left on my break from EVE I began getting reddit PMs and messages on Steam. “Hey, something is wrong in BRAVE.” “This isn’t the place I came to love.” “BRAVE has lost it’s way.” Messages all saying the same thing, something was wrong and people were concerned. Some of these people who messaged me spoke in concern and wanted to see what I thought, some wanted me to come back quickly and fix what they perceived to be wrong, some wanted to know how I would fix the problems. I didn’t even know if I agreed with them, I was outside the workings of BRAVE and merely watching from the outside. I tracked the Subreddit and game news but that was about it. A few people were willing to help me get more insight, unscrubbed council notes, internal conversation log, FC meeting notes, EVE mails, . But none of it cleared anything up. And people continued to express concern.
In the end I returned to BRAVE. I came back to the game, more for myself as I do enjoy playing EVE(Oh god I’m addicted). But I decided to keep an eye on BRAVE and talk to a few people. I started planning for possible solutions internal to BRAVE but none were viable. In the end one option came out as the best way to see an entity that sticks to the ideals that BRAVE and BNI were made around.
Start over.
Create a new group. Protect those ideals, even while adapting to the changing EVE-verse.
BRAVE wasn’t supposed to be a new Goons. BRAVE wasn’t supposed to look like what TEST did back in Delve(old TEST, new TEST I have a hard on for, Sappy please love me <3). However BRAVE has failed in that. Whose fault is it? I don’t know.
But as that is true I am creating a new corp. A new journey. A new home. Learning from the lessons of our failures here we will pursue the ideals of BRAVE in a new way. Thus I introduce my new home, a home that I intend to see follow the ideals that drew many to BRAVE, and a home I hope many of you find welcoming:

After reading the aforementioned mail I contacted Brave Collective Diplomat Fl1pzomg to get their side of the story and his comments are as follows:
We thank Motre for his service and wish him well on his future Eve Career. We like seeing Newbies grow up and setting out to make the game fun for them.
We however disagree with his attempt to poach new members from our alliance and have taken action to prevent him from doing so through alliance mails.
His new corporation has been set to orange for the alliance and his alts have been removed but Motre left of his own accord prior to sending the mail.
According to the above it appears that there is a potential for some members leaving the alliance to look for “greener pastures” but it is unlikely that many will leave. The ultimate question is will this have any effect on the overall management of the alliance and how they fare in the sov warfare they are currently in.
Update: To prevent any confusion that the original title may have caused this has been changed. To clarify Arik Alabel who is currently the Military Director of BRAVE is not leaving.
