Earlier today we announced the release of a new EVE Online forum. However, it soon came to our attention that a group of people disapproved of our use of the historic EVE Online twitter hashtag #tweetfleet. We appreciate the feedback from the EVE community and have listened to what you have had to say.
For years I owned the tweetfleet.net domain and during a brainstorm for the forum names it occurred to us to make use or it. Let us first assure you that our intentions were good, our decision to use tweefleet as a name was not to ride off the hashtag. In the spirit of building something bigger, it was our desire to develop what was already in place, something that the community had developed that could be continued onto another medium of discussion and improve upon it.
Just as EVE News24 doesn’t frown upon reader’s criticism, so it was our duty to listen the to the community and act accordingly. I won’t lie; I am the kind of person who likes to swim against the current, as somehow it makes things more exciting. My readers know it, CCP Games know it and my detractors more than anything knows it. However, a year ago I delegated EN24’s directorship to Bobmon and as such he plays a vital role in the decisions I made on the network’s expansion.
After a lengthy discussion involving many space friends, the decision was made to switch to another domain name, and this domain name will be WarpToZero.net. These forums will serve as an approachable addition to the EVE Online forums ecosystem, especially in the wake of this year’s Kugutsumen demise.
Our vision for the Warp To Zero forums is to allow an open discussion of topics not suitable in form or content for either EVE News24, the EVE-O forums or any other similar offering. We also wish to find and promote great content for the benefit of the EVE Online community and to allow players to meet and interact – should they desire to – in full privacy.
This said, I would like to invite players interested in contribute and police the quality of these new forums. If you would like to give us a hand, make sure to write an email to [email protected].
Dear readers, make sure to log into the forums and check the content we’ll be putting throughout the week. Also, the integration with EVE News24 will serve as a bridge between the constant “happening” of EN24 and a more pasive and long term discussion of EVE Online topics.
So, right click the forum logo below and Warp to Me at Zero. I sincerly hope you all can enjoy the great things we have planned to offer.
