Yesterday, CFC made a push for LBGI-2 in Fountain, which was recently taken by N3 Forces.
The events leading up to this fight in LBGI-2 is that the CFC had managed to place SBU’S (Sovereignty Blockade Units), which would give them the ability to reinforce the systems Infrastructure Hub. N3 noticed the impending attack and decided to form defense fleets.
The N3 fleets consisted of a Nulli Secunda Ishtar HAC fleet, a DARKNESS./Kadeshi Legion T3 fleet and an NCDot Tengu T3 fleet all with logistic support and tackle. The N3 forces undocked and got themselves into the system and readied themselves to repel the CFC attack. The attacking CFC forces brought a mixture of fleets as well; a Dominix battleship fleet, A Harpy assault frigate fleet, a Tengu T3 fleet and a handful of bombers again with logistic support. With N3 already in system, the CFC fleets decided to assemble on a closeby titan and wait for the right moment to jump in.
The right moment came after just a few minutes and the CFC Dominix fleet bridged into LBGI-2. N3 had noticed the cyno going up and responded by warping their fleets to their respective optimal ranges. As they landed the Dominix fleet was joined by the Harpies and Tengu’s who also jumped into system throught he titan bridge. It didn’t take long for other alliances to find out what was happening, and Triumvirate Ishtar’s and Pandemic Legion Tengu’s entered the fight at around the same time as things were kicking off between N3 and CFC.
While fighting, N3 noticed that they were slowly being overwhelmed and started thinking of other ways to defend the system rather than just fighting head to head with the CFC Fleet. After some deliberating, the decision to burn down the SBU’s was made and, if successful would then make it impossible for CFC to accomplish their objective of reinforcing the IHUB. One of the SBU’s was destroyed by the combined fire of the N3 forces but the sustained heavy casualties. This did mean however that the CFC had to anchor and online another SBU to push the iHub into it’s final timer. The N3 alliances retreated from the field as their losses became too great to combat the larger CFC force and the CFC started to online the SBU they needed to win this fight.
Protecting the remaining SBU with both the assault frigate and Dominix fleets, the CFC successfully onlined the needed SBU, which was being watched over by the CFC Tengu fleet, and pushed the iHub into its final timer (armour), Meaning the CFC won the ISK war against the N3, managing to destroy 34.5 billion ISK to the CFC’s 25.9 Billion ISK lost. The CFC also managed to secure their strategic objective making this a successful evening for the combined CFC forces.
