Hey folks!
I’m participating in a fundraiser that blows the ALS Ice Bucket challenge out of the water. I’m raising money for the Colorado Children’s Hospital. The charity is the Children’s Miracle Network, and the local hospital treats thousands of children each year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay. These kids are facing scary stuff like cancer, cystic fibrosis, and injuries from accidents to name just a few.
On September 25, 2014, I’ll be visiting the local hospital to spend several hours playing games with some of the kids who are being treated there and getting to know them. Then, on October 25, 2014, I’ll be participating in this huge worldwide gaming marathon to raise awareness and money for the Children’s Miracle Network, playing any sort of game you can think of for 24 straight hours (video games, tabletop RPGs, board games–anything!). I’d love your support for this cause. I’ve started off the donations with $100 of my own–taking the place of any Ice Bucket stuff–and challenge you to add to the cause. Last year I raised $200, but I want to do better this time around!
In addition, I’m hosting an event in EVE Online during the marathon, contingent upon reaching my new goal of $10,000, wherein I will take my Nyx supercarrier out for one last spin, dropping it in lowsec somewhere to be killed by whomever shows up. I’ll be announcing this on the Alliance Tournament XII stream, and may get some help from CCP publicizing the event, so keep an eye out if you’re an EVE player! Mark October 25th on your calendar if you want on a Nyx killmail.
Your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids as you would expect.
You can make a donation here on this page, safely and securely, publicly or anonymously. Thanks!
