In the next chapter of the war in the north -Razor Alliance- and The Bastion took another shot at the duo of Legion_of_xXDEATHXx and Nulli Secunda.
Though this time the self inflicted trouble comes from RZR and their use of an armor proteus fleet against Ishtars. This gives the damage advantage to the Ishtars to begin with for a few reasons, Ishtar passive resistances are high against kinetic and thermal (the 2 types of damage that a Proteus using hybrids can do) and each Ishtar while tanking the incoming fire better because of the resistances can dish out other damage types to push on the the Proteus weak points, in this aspect the Ishtars are superior and cheaper for this engagement.
Just like last time RZR and BSTN flew as 2 completely different fleets using different tanks.
BSTN going with Tengu’s and Scimitars for repairs and RZR going with armor Proteus and Archons for repairs, leaving one of the 2 CFC fleets vulnerable if either fleet loses its logistics group.
Nulli and xXDeathXx however were ready this time, xXDeathXx had fit their Ishtars with a thermal hardener to sure up the lowest of its Tech 2 resistances against the Proteus fleet and Nulli waiting to join the fight.
With RZR again attacking first they fought a lone xXDeathXx fleet while Nulli were not on field at the time. The start of the battle saw a slow amount of damage be done to the reinforced Ishtars while Ishtars with bouncers had no trouble against the proteus group. BSTN Tengu’s tried to break through the repairs the Ishtars were recieving but had little effect. The battle changed decively though when Nulli titan bridged in a Cerberus fleet and some dreadnaughts to take down the triage Archons. BSTN having lost most of its logi felt the fight was mostly lost and decided to retreat, just as they left the field bubbles went up in a failed attempt to hold the BSTN fleet but other bubbles caught the RZR fleet. With BSTN off the field the Ishtars and Cereberus made short work of the Proteus fleet and the dreads wiped the triage carriers from the field and ensuring the death of the majority of the Proteus fleet, the Proteus fleet did however manage to kill some dreadnaughts before all was said and done though.
Having won the field this time Nulli and xXDeathXx are able to hold their heads up high having returned the favour from their previous engagements.
One thing is for sure, aslong as Nulli can keep their Ishtars at range and RZR continue using Proteus fleets the start of engagements like this will continue to likely favour Nulli. Will RZR and BSTN continue with Tech 3’s or will they look for a more effective counter to the Ishtar fleet?
