Today started out just like any other day in EVE for Black Legion.
That was until a notification went out that their POS in Illi was being shot by some Pandemic legion Dreadnaughts. Pings were sent out to quickly get a Ishtar fleet to go after siege dreadnaughts before their siege cycle could finish.
This is important as while the Dreadnaughts are in “Siege” they receive a big damage boost but are unable to be remotely repairing by anyone.
The Ishtar fleet formed up for a titan bridge via erebus and landed around 20km from the dread fleet. As this is happening Pandemic legion sent out pings to their allies as well about the fight erupting, this ping is answered by NC and some Brave pilots (no pun).
At this point the Ishtars dropped gardes and began primarying a Phoenix which soon fell to the Ishtar group,As all this is happening Pandemic legion call in for supers to escalate the fight and to help repair the dreadnaughts as they come out of siege along with being able to use their “Remote Ecm burst” modules, causing a burst of countermeasures on a target of the supers choice hopefully disrupting their ability to lock the dreads aswell as to try and wipe the Ishtar fleet from existence.
Next up was a Naglfar which manages to catch repairs having just come out of siege, The Revelation that was called primary afterwards was not so lucky.
Having received reinforcements in the way of slowcats (carriers using sentry drones) and super carriers (using fighters to shoot at the Ishtars) Pandemic legion now try holding the field.
At this point in the fight the Ishtars abandon their Gardes drones and drop Bouncer drones focusing on fighters to lower the incoming DPS from the newly buffed fighters from the recent expansion several weeks ago (which now track up to three times better than before)
Around this time Black Legion drop their own supers in on the other side of the Pos and immediately start joining the Ishtar fleet in going after dreadnaughts and carriers alike
While the ishtars are focusing on the fighters giving the dreadnaughts time to coast out of siege the ishtar damage turns to the triage carriers that have landed on field, Triage carriers being able to send out heavy reps but can receive none themselves while in triage.
A lone Nyx becomes primary but manages to escape in about 30% armor remaining.
This happens once more until they manage to take down one Nyx with the help of Black legions supers. Both sides have supers deployed and its a DPS race to remove triage carriers and fighters/Fighter bombers from the field, on one hand killing fighters will lower the incoming dps letting your side tank the enemy better. On the other hand focusing down their triage pilots means your damage isn’t absorbed and completely mitigated.
Carriers start falling like flies and reps are not holding for Pandemic legion as they start bleeding more archons, the ishtars focusing on enemy fighters/bombers and helping on the carriers as they reach around 50% armor to push them over edge quickly.
After taking some heavy carrier losses and the loss of a nyx Pandemic legion and company extract from field.
It seems like pandemic legion were caught by surprise when black legion dropped super carriers and paid for it losing quite a few carriers and a lone Nyx:
Not quite the same as losing a second Revenant but the answer came across the same.
