Alliance Tournament XII- Collusion Rules

June 6, 2014

In a Developer Blog, written by CCP Fozzie, he clarifies some of the rules pertaining to allowing Alliance Tournament teams to scrimmage against each other and set up “house rules” in their matches.

“Practicing against other teams is allowed.”

And

“For ATXII we will be allowing different teams to practice in wormholes sharing logistics and starbase access as long as teams are legitimately working towards their own victory and compete for themselves in each and every match.”

He has stated that the teams, especially those living in a wormhole, are allowed to share logistics and starbase access, as long as they both work towards their own victory and do not attempt to “throw matches” to allow their friends to win and move on. Scrimmaging against other teams is allowed also on the special “Duality” server if you give them your system password to allow them entry.

Setting up “house rules” for actual matches in Alliance Tournament XII will be considered collusion and is not allowed.

CCP Fozzie states that before teams agreeing to certain rules has been allowed in the past (implying that they can tell) and no attempt had been made to break the spirit of the rules but this year it will not be allowed. One can only wonder how many times this has happened before with the teams having an unwritten agreement to not bring the Dominix or Isthar.

Nowhere in this thread is spying mentioned that many have complained about over the lead up to this next Alliance Tournament. However, as explained in this old Dev Post, it is reminded that actively interfering with a teams practicing is considered an exploit and will not be allowed.

Looking Forward To Watching This Tournament-
