Today’s engagement was set in motion a few days back as most of N3 Coalition celebrated the Holidays with friends and family while not being active in EVE. RUS Coalition took advantage of the N3 absence and were able to take some 20 systems and 1 station system. The single station system was under an incursion so they had help from Sansha’s Nation in keeping our SLOWCATS from being able to be cyno into system and save the station. In response N3/PL Coalition has been on the offensive mode sbu’ing and reinforcing numerous station systems throughout several regions and one being -A- staging F4R2-Q.
That ultimately brings up to todays 6+ hour brawl in F4R2. An -AAA-/DD fleet formed when the IHUB came out and began to shoot SBUs this morning. N3 missed the IHUB timer because an EMP titan needing bro rescue which delayed N3 from getting back before the russians had repped the IHUB. The N3 fleet came back from the titan and logged off so the Russians tried to make the best of it and dropped everything they had on the SBU’s at all 4 F4R2 gates. They even had supers on SBUs at one point but they ran when a 30 man inty gang came into system. -AAA-/DD managed to kill all but one SBU when PL dropped on the 5 Dreads and assorted tengu/rokh/typhoon fleet. PL went in alone with drone Proteus to hero tackle dreads and poked NC. to get N3 formed. Minutes later N3 was jumping in with a rail Proteus fleet and in warp to the grid. PL suffered some losses holding tackle on the dreads, but ultimately 4 dreads would die and N3/PL would hold the field and re SBU all the gates in F4R2. Brawls would go on back and forth to hold all the SBUs in check splitting up all the N3 fleets to hold an SBU at their assigned gate. Throughout the day N3/PL would hold the field fending off several attacks from combined forces with losses on both sides.
The whole afternoon climaxed so to speak with the SBU’s onlining in 30 minutes, CFC rage pinged to form up a fleet of Domis along with some sniping T3s. -A-/DD moved to almost all Typhoons. With only minutes left for the various SBU’s to online the VAD gate SBU died and the combined fleet reaching upwards of 700 pilots would head to the ZXIC SBU to kill it before N3/PL could reinforce the IHUB making the SBU’s invulenable to the hostile fleets. With the SBU in armor the IHUB was reinforced by the N3/PL fleets locking down the system until the station exits reinforcement.
We would like to give credit to -A- and friends for constantly reforming and coming back in valiant attempt to defend their home staging system. With most of the N3 Coalition still recovering from the New Year hangover, other fc’s stepped up to provide 1k plus kills to start the year with a bang! Happy New Year pod pilots, from all of us in N3, may we all continue with the content generation in 2014!
