Iges system, Placid region. On the 5th of November at 10:11 EVE Standard Time, a Ragnarok titan belonging to Shadow Cartel [SHWDC] was destroyed by forces belonging to Snuffed Out [B B C].

The incident in question started when Snuffed Out forces attempted to bait Shadow Cartel into action, setting up a trap using a Nyx supercarrier. The supercarrier in question was told to reinforce planetary customs offices (Pocos) in the system, where known Shadow Cartel scouts were present. Snuffed Out fleet commanders hoped to entice Shadow Cartel this way into forming and dropping a sizable capital force on the Nyx which they would then counter drop with their own supercarreirs and titans which waited on log-in screens.

As the Snuffed Out pilots had hoped, the plan worked and the Nyx was quickly tackled, a cynosural beacon lit ushering in several dreadnoughts. Snuffed Out forces however kept waiting for more Shadow Cartel capitals to jump through when their pilot reported that a Ragnarok jumped in and had just activated its doomsday device.

Immediately, Snuffed Out pilots were told to log in, with preference to Ghost Riders (Carriers housing heavy interdictors who jump into the action where the pilots then eject and board the heavy interdictors from their carriers to tackle super capitals) while a cynosural beacon was lit on grid to allow reinforcement in. Quickly, Snuffed Out supercarriers and titans jumped in, accompanied by the carriers. In no time the Ragnarok was tackled and the Snuffed Out titans started clearing the field of dreadnoughts before turning on the titan itself.

With no escorts or defense, the titan attempted to refit for a better tank to hold out but had little time before the combined Snuffed Out force damage output simply overwhelmed it.

Once the field was secured and the titan’s wreck looted, Snuffed Out forces extracted safely, concluding a successful fishing expedition.

The Titan Kill from the PoV of one of the Snuffed Out Pilots

Shadow Cartel lost 1 titan and 5 dreadnoughts, suffering 154 billion ISK of damage.

      Still:
Nyx pilot without fighter bombers 5 – Ragnarok titan: 1-0.

who gives a shit. it was bait, nothing more or less. op success in a big way. bonus for illustrating how lol-worthy SC is.

Oh we are so wounded by the cruel comments of anonymous EN24 shit posters. Oh wait, that would imply we took you seriously in the first place.

On a more relevant note and to put it simply, if you own supers in any appreciable numbers eventually one of them is going to die doing something silly, its human nature if nothing else. Was bad luck for us it happened to be a titan rather than a supercarrier but them’s the breaks and there’s always lessons to be learned.

Props to Snuffed Out for a nicely executed trap and we’ll see you at the next fight.

After flying in several of Snuff’s fleets, they don’t really have any idea how to properly use their supers, and when they do they’re completely unwilling to remove tank mods for damage mods.

      • Anom

And your point is? There are times when you want to be brawl fit. To say there is only one way to use Supers is incredibly foolish and ignorant.

        • anonymous

+1. “unwilling to remove tank mods” lol – a clueless jackass who obviously doesn’t have much experience with supercaps.

          • anon

Flown them since before HICs, actually. I haven’t lost one, clearly am a clueless jackass.

  • Bonzikat

I wonder has anyone ever had a random guy enter local and snatch a super while its pilot is out in the hic? I know id be tempted to do that if i saw an empty super.

    • Bram Ridder

I’m sure they keep the carriers locked up so you can’t enter it.

    • Anom

They do that with carriers not supers! Reading comprehension is important.

    • Goobah

People learned a few years to keep the ship in question locked up. For awhile, ORCAs were quite a bit of fun to “repo” until ( some ) people smartened up.

    – Ragnarok. But it is not crucial for Shadow Cartel. they will buy new )
