Weekly News Recap: 24/5/2015 – 30/5/2015

June 2, 2015

The last week of May saw heavy fighting continue across the Cluster. Battles grow ever more violent with Capitals and Super Capitals deployed frequently. Even though the promised sovereignty mechanics changes keep being postponed, the warring factions of Null Security space remain locked in their life and death struggle over the different regions. When Fozzie Sov hits the server, who will be the ones to remain and reap its benefits?

The North: Remaining one of the bloodiest regions of the game, the war between the Geminate Coalition and the Vanguard Coalition in the Drone Lands continues to escalate, with Super Capital assets used on both sides, though not with the best of results. In Venal the war over the moons seem to have been won by Cricle-Of-Two [CO2] for the most part.

The East: Up until recently one of the most quiet regions in the game, the flames of war have been kindled in Wicked Creek and Insmother. The conflict between Diplomatic Immunity. [DIP] and Phoebe Freeport Republic [PFR] has drawn many of the forces in the East into it. Test Alliance Please Ignore [TEST] has further provoked the Red Menace Coalition (Red Alliance [RA] and their allies) by hitting their money moons, with the retaliation coming in the form of systems and stations being reinforced.

The South: Probably the second bloodiest arena in the game, the South continues to burn, as the war between Guardians of the Galaxy Coalition (DARKNESS. [DARK.], The Kadeshi [THOR], Sugar. [SUGAR], Short Bus Syndicate [TARD] and others) and Elite Space Coalition (Confederation of xXPIZZAXx [PIZZA], Evoke. [EV0KE], EON Alliance [EON], Vox Populi. [-VOX-] and others) over the fate of Querious continues. Elite Space Coalition continues to receive support from the Imperium’s Reavers Squadron, which has stalled GotG Coalition attempts to claim the whole region. Continued interference by Pandemic Legion [-10.0] has not helped either. In Providence, the fighting between Northern Coalition. [NC] and Providence Bloc continues to be sporadic, with few large fights and mainly skirmishing going on. Fidelas Constans [FCON] has also shown for the first time in the region.

The West: The war between Black Legion. [MEN.] and HERO Coalition continues to escalate. HERO Coalition’s willingness to drop Capital assets has forced [MEN.] to counter escalate with their Super Capitals. Battles continue to rage over systems and moons, as fights go back and forth and the future of the region remains in the balance.

As the month of May draws to a close, the bloodshed across New Eden intensifies as people embrace themselves for the sovereignty mechanic changes to hit, attempting to finish their conquests before its deployed. This resulted in escalation after escalation, especially in Fountain and Etherium Reach where the fighting has been fiercest. While in some parts of EVE, such as Querious and Providence the fighting continues to stall, in others it re-ignites, such as Wicked Creek and its surroundings. All told, the last few weeks saw almost daily fighting, carnage and plenty of systems change hands. With 6 weeks left to Fozzie Sov deployment, it seems a sure bet the next few weeks are going to be just as, if not more violent.
