Providence Bloc Wishes to Expand Its Borders, Targets the Catch Region

May 1, 2015

With the departure of Brave Collective [BRAVE] from the Catch region and the dissolution of the N3 Coalition, the south and southeast regions of Null Security space are in a state of flux. While alliances such as Nulli Secunda [S2N], DARKNESS(dot) [DARK.] and The Kadeshi [THOR] are busy evacuating assets and selling or just choosing outright to abandon systems, others are looking to snatch up space for themselves. Groups such as StainWagon Coalition, Phoebe Freeport Republic [FPR] and even Pandemic Horde [REKT0] have stepped up to grab as many systems as possible. One interesting region where things seem to be coming to a collision though, is the Catch region.

Those who keep track of the region noticed that The Volition Cult [VOLT], a member of Providence Bloc, has been snatching space in the north of Catch, expanding its holdings considerably. This seemed to run contrary to Providence Bloc’s policy, which since the Northern Catch War seemed to have been keeping a position of neutrality in the going ons of the region, especially during the Pandemic Legion campaign. However, the change in attitude becomes clearer after Equinox Daedalus, executor of Curatores Veritatis Alliance [CVA] and head of Providence Bloc, announced yesterday on the coalition’s forums the plans for future expansion:

No, that is not a cry for help. It is also not a cry to change our general philosophies or ideals in times of trouble. Infact its far from that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_Day A Spring celebration. A time to take a look and celebrate the fertility of the region, as well as take a few minutes to give thanks and treat each other with a bit more civility than we normally do. Over the past year + we have seen a lot of changes in providence, growth, activity, and community development. At this point i’d like to take a few mins to thank all the holders , smaller alliances, individual corps, and pilots who make providence a fine place to be in. The dedication by many people makes for a better environment for all to take in.

With brave leaving, Catch Space beckoning, I approached a few holders about relocation as a whole group, in order to push a stronger presence into catch, as well as make sure those systems (if we gained any) were something that would be used and better filled then they were previously. I also wanted to do it with this in mind in order to allow for Several newer additions to the providence holder ranks. The idea was put one of the stronger alliances out further, and back fill areas with people who deserved/earned a chance to be a holder alliance. As many of you can see, Volt agreed to make the move, and indeed we have been working on sorting them out, as well as filling the space they will release to be run by another holder.

At this time I’m Glad to Report that Gun Fun has been approached, and were offered the chance to hold and maintain sov for all providence citizens. Plans are slowly working into place, but you will continue to see shifts and changes in several systems that will be offered to other alliances as well. Other alliances (when i catch their execs) Will be given options to take up residences in some areas of providence as well, but so far i can only confirm Gun Fun.

Obviously we as a region+ (now)  have a lot more to do. Sov changes are coming, and well, things will most certainly look to be challenging and will be something that we will deal with and learn from. I’m not so much worried about that. Sov is just a goal, not an identity for us. I’d like to think that many of you feel the same way in regards to that. As we have shown in our recent skirmishes with NC. and other entities we are not afraid to take the fight, indeed we have had impressive numbers vs them, and i want to congratulate all who put for the effort and time to defend and fight for an ideal and a way of play that we have.

Providence and those Provi-teers who take part in this, and that way of things, continually prove again and again that the determination and willpower we maintain isn’t something that is empty quoting  to puff out our chests. In short, I think we should always try to look on the positive of things, We are the content creators of eve. Again and again we put forth a good showing, irregardless (yes i know that is not a word) of what the win or loss is, we continue to strive to reach for an ideal and a playstyle that is unique to us, and i just wanted to say thank you to all of you for making it so. It doesn’t alway seem as such, and indeed sometimes some people probably think they get overlooked and or neglected with it comes to things, but I just want to take a few mins and say that is never the case (at least intentionally).

So look to the star maps, Look for the fleets and celebrations that we have everyday. Enjoy life, eve, and those who you find fun with when your here.

For those wishing a brief summary, [VOLT] are slated to evacuate their holdings in the Providence region and relocate to Catch. Taking their place will be Gun Fun Alliance [G-F-A], a German speaking alliance and long time member of Providence Bloc. [VOLT] will remain part of Providence Bloc, effectively increasing its size and opening more systems for the coalition pilots to populate, lessening the pressure in the already overcrowded region. Other alliances are expected to enter the family of sovereignty holders in the future.

Though so far taking space uninterrupted, Providence Bloc will soon come into conflict with other powers who seek to claim the region. Against ALL Authorities [-A-] continues to view the region as its rightful property, and though merely a shadow of its former self, will probably be backed by its allies in StainWagon Coalition. The other power to keep in mind is [REKT0], or more accurately, their parent alliance Pandemic Legion, who still controls several key systems in the region, as well as the only gateway into Empire space.

Only time will tell just how far Providence Bloc is willing to push into Catch but one thing is certain, content will not be missing for its pilots.
