On the 25th of March a Nyx class super-carrier died in the low-sec system of Ignoitton which is part of the Sinq Liason region in New Eden.
This Nyx was piloted by Unbowed Ash, from the SVAR-GA LEG [SVAR-] corporation in the Bora Alis [BORA] alliance. He was primarily killed by members of the Hax. [HAX.] corporation, who left Northern Coalition. [NC] a month earlier, in a heavy assault cruiser zealot fleet.
To determine the nature of the kill both parties involved where contacted. An anonymous source in Hax provided me with the following:
He wanted to get rid of it low key without anyone knowing, so he convo’d blue (who was actually going to buy it). When blue discovered that it was in space with no POS and gave the exact location he decided to make it a Hax kill instead. We hid in a WH waiting for him to log on and Turbo did an excellent job getting us one right to his home system. We had him for like 10 min doing like zero damage to him but had killed all his DPS and neuted him out so while shouting insults in local he self destructed. NC. was rumoured to have been bringing the blob, so we are grateful he died before you got here!

Clearly the effort of moving the ship from it’s current location, with the new jump fatigue changes, proved to be greater than the benefits potentially gained from the purchase so the decision was made to destroy it. Evidently the ships used were chosen due to wormholes being the method of transport used to get there and with the numbers available an armor zealot fleet has greater durability than a nano Ishtar gang who would struggle to keep tackle with HICs in lowsec.
Both Unbowed Ash and Bora Alis have been contacted with the hope of gaining their view on events but as yet no response has been received so the post will be updated accordingly if required.
Update: I was recently contacted by Bluemelon, well known 3rd party service provider, who had the following to say:
In your article my name is used quite often, and it makes it seem like I screwed him as a 3rd party.
I’d like to clarify that this was not the case, I was not the 3rd party, Chribba was and I fully intended on buying that ship and the price was fantastic. However, he was sitting in a safespot and easily gankable, when he logged in and Chribba was not online, we pounced. If Chribba had been online and in chat, I’d have just bought it. As shown below by the mail sent to Chribba who in reply stated that “I’ll try be available”
