*LIVE* The Adventures of Falcon – Starting EVE From Scratch

November 26, 2014

Watch live video from CCP_Falcon on www.twitch.tv

So, I decided to partake in a little project.

As part of my job I hear a lot about how EVE is too difficult as a rookie, and how new players can’t compete with veterans because of the skillpoint gap.

This is a common misconception among people who’ve never played EVE before and who just listen to the stereotype. I’d like to make an attempt to break that stereotype and show both new players and potential new players alike that starting EVE today is a good as time as ever.

With that in mind, after 12 years I’m putting all my veteran characters on ice until further notice, and will no longer be playing them.

These are characters who in some instances have >200 million skillpoints and multiple billions of ISK in their wallets. I’ve set their skill queues for a few years, (thanks for that functionality, guys! xD) and that’s that. They’re now no longer my concern.

So, it’s back to the start. I’ve created a new character. He has 55,824 skillpoints and 5,000 ISK in his wallet.

That’s all I get to start out with, same as any other rookie. I figure that all the knowledge of EVE that I have as a player is available out there in the form of guides, wikis and player resources, so I’m pretty much on even footing.

Hell, maybe I’ll even learn a thing or two along the way.

Starting this evening at 19:00 UTC, my twitch channel will go live and I’ll start from scratch, to see how far I can go in EVE.

This new character will start training when the stream goes live for the first time and I will begin my journey in EVE from the beginning.

No hiding character names, no secrets, the community will know who I am and what I do, and will be able to interact with me in any way they see fit, whether that be to assist, or hinder.

I’ll be regularly streaming the shenanigans that I get up to, regularly taking part in whatever events I can when I have time, and seeing how much fun I can have as a rookie again.

It’s quite an exciting prospect, and if you’d like to join me on this journey, then you can tune in to my Twitch channel.

I’ll also be announcing on twitter every time I go live with a stream, and I’ll be streaming pretty much all the gameplay I experience.

Come join me for some fun!
