Wyvern Eclipsed From Existance By Solar Fleet

September 4, 2014

Quite recently a Wyvern belonging to Sonnywaal from People’s Liberation Alliance was destroyed by Solar Fleet

This killmail is strange for a variety of reasons so lets go through them.

Reason 1. The wyvern was ratting fit, meaning that it was likely caught about to start ratting ( No rats on the killmail)

Reason 2. The Wyvern took a total of 1,700,920 damage, this is strange as when posted in to 3rd party tool such as Pyfa or Eve Fitting Tool the ship should have have around 3million hitpoints
This ofcourse is raw hitpoints and is only affected by shield regernation or repair.

Reason 3. With the modules fitted such as the capital shield booster and invulnerability deadspace modules, this pilot should have been able to last quite an amount of time. Not to mention he would have likely been able to kill some of the tackle such as the Onyx or other big targets such as the battlecruisers due to the tracking buff fighters received some time ago.

Reason 4. The wyvern had smartbombs fit, but ships like an osprey ( shield tech 1 logistics) were able to rack up over 30,000 damage using T2 drones, this indicates the pilot likely was not using the smartbombs he had fitted.

Finally if we take a look at his cargo bay, it is quite clear that he had a full “tank” fit inside waiting and a “travel” fit, yet he is using the “gank” fit which is only used ( you guessed it) when you are going to be shooting a target and maximum damage is used to kill the target before they are able to flee.

We however won’t mention what his pod contained ( or didn’t contain)

I have attempted to contact the pilots involved along with Sonnywaal but none are currently online, as the story develops i will update this post.

While it’s most likely this was a self destruct after being caught, for now we will have to wait to hear the entire story.

*Edit*

After hearing back from Sonnywaal this was their response :

If this is indeed the case we can expect to hear more about it in the future.
