My Two ISK: My First Four months in New Eden

July 3, 2014

As of July 3rd, 2014, I have played this game for four months and two days. While I wasn’t completely new to New Eden, I feel that I had as hard of a time as any other new player who has no experience with the Eve Universe. However, looking back at my first two months as a capsuleer, I believe that I had a great experience and made a lot of connections, and looking back, I don’t regret doing what I did.

I Started playing eve thanks to ContraBanJoe, The CEO of Faction Warfare Army, the largest Dust 514 corp. He got me into Eve through a free trial, and I thank him sincerely for the opportunity. For about a month or so, I mostly felt confused and unsure of what to do. For a lot of the time, I supported the Dust mercenaries through Orbital Bombardment, which felt rewarding, but also made me think there was more to this game than I thought

Around the same time I met a person named Tikareth Dismaye, who I am still good friends with to this day. He taught me everything I know about the game, including things that are essential to Faction Warfare. I consider him a great friend and mentor, and I thank him for all the help he has given.

Even outside of FWARM, I made connections with other great pilots, due to being in the Caldari Milita, including Eve Austerity and Mira deVorsha among others. They taught me about plexing and fleet tactics that I never would have known otherwise.

Despite the constant deaths and bad decisions I made in my first two months of the game I realized that I have a unwavering passion for this game and the people I play with, especially when started hanging around the eve-radio chat, and making new friends, and despite leaving FWARM over a dispute and joining Tikareth in our current corp, Black Lion Initiative, I will never look back with anger or regret.

At first glance, the eve world seem complex and the community seemed toxic, but once you learn the ropes, its a game you might actually dedicate your time to. I sure did.

Here’s hoping for another 4 months.
