Just a moment ago, a Triumvirate Ragnarok died at the hands of Pandemic Legion.
The Ragnarok was found by a scout when he cynod into a system that PL regularly watches. The titan pilot is a member of Triumvirate so it would make sense for him to move north to their staging system, FDZ-. PL started to look for routes that the titan pilot could be taking but all results showed pretty busy systems so it was more than logical for the titan pilot to try a more quiet system.
PL scouts and cynos were placed close to the more quiet systems and the wait began. Suddenly, the scout who was with the titan pilot spoke up on comms, ”Ragnarok is decloaked.” This was a good indication that he was about to jump so all other scouts opened their maps and started looking for cynos. Sure enough the ragnarok jumped out, and the hunt was on.
A scout saw the cyno appear on the map and started burning. Quickly, the scout jumped to the system but by the time that he had arrived it was already too late, he had cloaked and safed up.
Now it was a challange, PL scouts knew that in this new mid the titan pilot only had access to a couple of exits, such as Astabih, Sharir and others. These 2 systems got some extra attention because PL had a gut feeling that one of these would be used.
Sure enough, they noticed a new pilot in Astabih. A cyno went up and the Ragnarok jumped. Scouts warped to the cyno but the Ragnarok was fast enough to warp off. Scouts followed the titan to his warp spot but the ragnarok landed on a different range and this brought the titan pilot enough time to warp back to a save location.
Now PL wanted to kill this ragnarok even more so all attention was placed on this titan moving around new eden. They noticed that the previous cyno alt had logged back in and so quickly realised what possible could be happening. luckley one of the PL scouts was still in system and so for a third time the fleet started preparing itself.
The Cyno went up in the previous system and, sure enough, the Ragnarok jumped in. again the scout warped to the cyno and again they were to late. This time the scout followed the titan warp direction on the same range as the titan landed last time. When leaving warp the scout landed right on top of the titan and now it was time to pull the trigger
The PL scout lit his cyno and the PL hics jumped in first. A point landed just before the ragnarok was about to warp and so the rest of the PL fleet jumped in to secure the kill.
On sight of seing the PL capital fleet jumped in, he panicked and actually ejected from his titan. PL did consider taking it but decided that A kill was worth more than isk.
2 days, 2 ragnaroks down, Lets see if this is becomming normal!
