Friday, January 3rd, at 0700 a massive fight between the combined forces of Psychotic Tendencies, IRED, and Death By Design fought Usurper and their batphones of Shadow Cartel and The Cursed Few (TCF).
The story behind this fight was Usurper had an R64 POS reinforced by Psychotic Tendencies. Usurper decided that they were going to ask The Cursed Few to help defend the pos once it left Reinforcement. TCF decided to help, because they wanted to show Psychotic Tendencies their place. Usurper had batphoned a lot of entities in lowsec about 12 hours before the fight. These included Shadow Cartel, xXPlease, and a few others which didn’t honor the call. Strictly unprofessional had come in with Easily Excited, and were third partying the fight.
That out of the way, at the start of this, Surely You’re Joking showed up to the POS in oracles for some reason, and decided that they were going to shoot at some of the carriers that Usurper had there, trying to bait out our dreads. After the SYJ oracles had died, we (Psychotic Tendencies) had subcaps on a titan waiting to bridge in, with dreads on standby as well as triage. Once our cyno went up we bridged in a fleet of close range battleships with 2 triage to start killing Usurper’s carriers. Once the first carrier started dying, a cyno went up for Usurper, and they had jumped in about 15 or so dreads. Upon seeing this, we escalated with dreads of our own, and started primarying Usurper dreads.
I’m not sure, what was going on with our dreads, and how fast they were dying since I was following primaries. But the dreads we had primed, were melting extremely fast. During all of this, one of Usurper’s batphones, Shadow Cartel, showed up late to the fight, after most of all the Usurper dreads had died. Once they were on grid, they started primarying our remaining capitals on grid. Right after Shadow Cartel had jumped into the fight, Strictly Unprofessional and Easily Excited came in to third party. I’m not sure if they were a batphone of Usurper or not, but it didn’t look like it as they had lost a few dreads to TCF and us.
In the end of it all, we finally gave the order to get subcaps that were still alive off grid, and tried to jump out our remaining capitals as both Strictly/Easily Excited, and Shadow Cartel were on grid. After the fighting had died down, the end kills were about dead even on capital kills. They had killed two more dreads than we had, but they lost a few more dreads to Strictly and Easily sniping a few and a carrier.
