Western Front: The folly of Markus Dixon

Late Saturday evening a group of CFC Dominix fleets were busy moving back to their staging system in G-0 when Ncdot took notice and decided to drop them in KLMT with a smaller Proteus fleet. Another cyno went up on the grid seconds later as S2N brought in a Dominix fleet to bolster the N3 forces. As soon as the Proteus were engaged on top of the CFC Dominix fleet close range dreads and carriers were jumped in. All seemed to be going well for N3 as a PL cyno went up.

At this point PL pilot Markus Dixon made an easy but quite common mistake and hit the jump button instead of bridge on his titan pilot Royal Bliss. This resulted in the titan being quickly tackled only one jump from G-0 the major CFC staging system in Curse. As CFC began pouring in N3 allies quickly warped up to the PL titan clearing off CFC interdictors. Markus Dixon with little option and not enough cap to jump out decided to warp to planet 2 the celestial he was aligned to. Unfortunately for him a CFC Sabre was able to land a bubble on the titan before he was able to jump and the CFC Dominix fleet shifted to planet 2 engaging the titan at close range with neutralisers and sentries.

Fortunately the titan had a cyno fitted and as N3 landed on grid with their support fleets around 15 to 20 PL Archons jumped in to repair the stricken titan. With a critical mass of carriers arriving CFC seemed to have missed their opportunity to deploy dreadnoughts and taking heavy Dominix losses attempted to extract. When the CFC bailed N3 had around 200 Archons on the field with the titan not dipping below 80% armour the entire fight. CFC FC Lazerous Telraven had the following to say after his Dominix was killed off early in the fight.

Fuck you canaris, I will alpha you off the field every time I see you on it from now on. Have a nice day. Its ok, Every fight this war I haven’t blapped the FC off the field. But I will from now on because no honor.

Eastern Front: Sub-humans strike back

Insidious Empire (EMP) has been fairly effective in the last couple of weeks in dealing with GENTS bomber gangs attempting to take N3 sov in the Kalevala Expanse effectively reversing any progress GENTS have made. It appears morale within GENTS has been wearing thin with line members complaining about only being allowed to use stealth bomber gangs and EMP reversing days of progress in minutes using capital ships. Here are some posts typical of the unrest on GENTS forums:

Yeah, yeah. We’re a 3 year old alliance, the seventh largest in the game by character count, and part of the largest coalition in the game, yet we can’t use capitals on our own… but EMP can? An alliance filled with IRC and TEST rejects, FC’d by Baki Yuku?

All of those examples are coalition fleets. I was talking about alliance usage. I’ve been in this alliance for more than a year now, and I’ve seen dreads used twice. To shoot towers.

I am for using capitals more despite the risk involved, because this is a game and we should take risks to do fun things in said game. Shooting structures in stealth bombers is not, and will never be fun. Nor is never escalating and always ceding the field whenever anyone, anywhere escalates to capitals. I realize these are the drone regions and its a pain in the ass in our current situation, but the same reasons are wheeled out every single time, no matter where we are. Even if we’re right at home in Vale and within jump range of QPO, so pardon me if I’m not too welcoming of it anymore.

Today however EMP made their first major progress in taking CFC space by capturing the station system of P-E. Despite GENTS and other CFC members appearing like they would form to defend this space a large showing from N3 seemed to put them off and GENTS reshipped to bombers and Nagas. It is interesting to note GENTS were unwilling to use capitals even when they had a friendly station to park them on as N3 have done quite effectively for the last few weeks. GENTS chose a different strategy and threw some Nagas and bombers away by warping into the combined N3 fleets before standing down.

The War Continues

With RUS block noticably absent in the last week since their failiure to take out DY- and XVV it appears CFC is doing most of the heavy lifting on both fronts. It will be interesting to see if RUS attempts another strong offensive in the coming days but the war seems to have ground to a standstill.

I’m not sure it is over egging it because that’s exactly what the CFC has been attempting to do. Open multiple fronts to stretch the N3 defenses. Attempting to make N3 choose between defending one system and loosing another. N3 isnt just under attack from the front (Immensea) by the Goonstain Coalition, its under attack from all sides in multiple regions. While all agree the CFC has not fully committed N3 continues to be outnumbered on many timers 2:1. The fact that N3 is holding the line against a muilti front war and so often out numbered is very impressive from an outside observers point of view.

Yes well N3/PL have always been good against the odds, but with the blobberlition of Rus/BL/CFC trying to leach renters/rmt I’m sure they did not think it would be this difficult to fight a significantly outnumbered N3/PL.
In all honesty forums/posts even comms that iv heard my self in the cfc camp , speak of discontent if I’m to generalise on matters.
With a huge buffer of 400 systems for the blobberlition to go through, it would be a question to ask, what would Rus/BL/cfc look like if they did manage to take this sov many many many months down the line.
As indication would show N3/PL are having a good time of it, Rus are miserable and bickering between them selves. Alarm clocking numerous times to have their work torn down in a couple of hours. Diminishing fleets, resorting to cfc tactics of suicide aka grinding in bombers.
BL. Are just welping 9/10 fleets the 10th being cowardgoos.
Cfc won’t engage anything unless they got Rus/BL with them.
While getting there asses handed to them by EMP in the north.
N3/PL forces are showing quite inspiring resilience and having fun to boot with it in the process.
Honestly don’t think it’s going well or as expected for the blobberlition.

Full of shit, one or two caps welps. Have you monitored the times nulli and n3 get spanked to numerous to note. Nc. Where running away in their claw dominated nano fleet from a similar size murder of crow fleet. Literally running, can’t handle subcaps I guess.

Spanked you must be referring to when cfc/Rus/BL are able to blob N3/PL in the subcap odds on occasions. Nothing great about welping hostiles when you have like silly odds vs their numbers, just shows your insecurity to do anything without coalitions around you. Coward much…

But hey even that being the fact, I don’t care, killing a blob however big it is, is fine to me.

You’re right the CFC isn’t deployed there, but I also think the Russians aren’t a co-ordinated block like N3. Once they get that worked out they’ll start to grind faster.
If the CFC decide to deploy, honestly the Goonstain gimmick is pretty good and we like a good gimmick, it’ll get interesting.

However for Laz to be tooting about honour is quite… Shall we say contradictory, since he and Vee on far too many occasions have gone through fights primarying some thing like 25-30 guys who stepped into FC, I believe cfc still lost that fight as well when we were down to like FC 31 lol.
So Laz/Vee as honourable as CFC FCs come but it’s like stating pigs can fly there I’m afraid when referring to honour, but delicious all the same.

You know what the ideal out come of this war would be.

N3/PL patch up the holes while doing some serious diplo shit with Rus, probably not Solar since Macteps more stubborn than donkey and as wise as a toddler.
When N3/PL patched up the little sov that maybe had been taken and fixed a few rental matters, then to focus on a multiple front against cfc, and to have Rus attack through the west to gain foothold through CFCs rental/rmt sov and to squeeze cfc from those multiple fronts. Since Rus will get more space more isk excluding Solar since again Macteps retarded.
N3/PL will carry on the holy war, and carry on creating good content for their guys.
BL will probably either stick with Rus or go and do their own thing, maybe go off with solar or even be bought by CFC to help them.

This is ideally what I’d like to happen, can see happening, but the amount of issues matters you’d have to go through is a fair pile, however -A- DD etc those Rus guys fight isn’t with N3/PL they have been manipulated into how they stand now. so they have no real cause to be as miserable as they are now and carry on fighting against a similar reflection. There real fight has always been against cfc when not between each other. One of these days they will remember that.

Can see RA being flicked off the map yet again, just calling it now, I’m no prophet though lol

Well, you SBU’d our deploy system, after provoking us by dropping -a-
sov grinding fleets. You allied yourself with nc. and pl. You wage
infowar against us, you act as if you’re the new TEST… Your leader is a
megalomaniacal scrub, complete with “you do not talk back to Nulli”
shit. And the endless spin, endless accusations of RMT, endless hating on the russians. (theres like 20% ethnic russians in stainwagon, but suuuure, do go on.)

What more could you have done to alienate Stainwagon? I’ve no idea, but theres plenty of what you could have chosen not to do, but did anyway. Regret much?

personally, i liked nulli after delve thing, but now… yet another WN/TEST/X.I.X. style blob warfare coalition. Carry on!

First off I am NC. and the war with Gypsy Band/Solar in Geminate the first time is one of the only wars I have been in that was pure good fights especially between us and Gypsy Band which are now part of DD. Every side wages an infowar against each other but the simple fact is we are being invaded by all sov holding nullsec powers besides provi block and that does not need to be made up. I do not know what you mean by acting as if we are the new test. Our leader has never cared for owning all of nullsec and we prefer to just go around getting fights wherever we can whether it be dropping on -A- or any other entity that puts a fleet on grid. I do not know what you are talking about with the “you do not talk back to Nulli.” RMT accusations against Solar are based in fact since their renters offered to pay us through PayPal when they first swapped over from Solar Fleet. I do not know anyone that hates on the Russians for being Russian.

I think DD(even ex-Gypsy dudes) hates N3/PL because you guys kept helping HBC and TDS as 3rd party (saving TEST carrier fleets from our supers or killing dreads while not touching INIT. capitals, for example)

You did all these little things against us during this year…and when there was a choice what to do next(there was even a questionnaire on our forum about this) “fuck N3” or “fuck CFC” – around 80% of our grunts said “fuck N3”

CFC played smart by staying away from RUSRUS wars…while N3 actions were shortsighted.

As long as there are russians against you – you will never see VFK and you know that

We literally showed up once and that was when you had something like 25 supercapitals on field 2 midpoints away. We jump on any fight we can when we are not in the middle of a war since the alternative is sitting around doing nothing.

            December 10, 2013 at 01:32
          6. Gypsy

You cant say same thing about PL. They were helping DD enemies every time we were deploying supers/capitals.

You called them to join war with SOLAR which turned good fights into blobbing at every timer. That move literally destroyed Gypsy Band with leadership going offline(2:1 blobbing at every timer = no challenge) and members not willing to join fleets after 1V-LI2.

After that, most of us were feeling cold towards N3 +PL and even had some sympathy to SOLAR. We decided to go south to fight HBC from Stain with ex-A-/exROL dudes and stay away from your coalition(to actually have some challenge and not to blob 1 alliance).

And now it feels like everyone here in DD wishes to fight N3+PL

            December 10, 2013 at 02:07
          7. anonymous

PL was part of Test’s Coalition at the time which which is also why we would not shoot their capitals if PL was on grid since PL has been blue with us since the NC war. As for blobbing Solar they had their own coalition at the start and their coalition folding after the HBC showed up one time is not my problem in the slightest. Also how is this 2:1 blobbing you are doing now any different? If that was the reason your leadership went offline last time then soon enough your alliance will fold again for the same reason. Only difference between then and now is that you have an even bigger coalition helping you out this time.

it is actually enjoyable war with even fights around Downtime and some big fights on weekends during your prime time.

haven’t seen any 2:1 blobbing on important timers, except the times you were to lazy to formup 1000 dudes.

For example, you brought ~1200 dudes for GE headshot timer, did we bring 2500 against you? As I remember it was around 1500, which is not a blob (1.2 vs 1.5):

            http://kb.dd-alliance.org/battle/b9543/#overview

I still don’t understand why ~27,000 people cant form ~1500-2000 for important timers. Recently, you just bring 400-500 members in your prime time and cry about ~800-900 blob(around 60% of them are russians alarm clocking at 3am)

The US TZ is not our primetime the only reason we time things that late is because Goons and your primetime is the cross between EU/RU tz’s and if we formed then we would get 1200 and you would have more then 2000 with Goons fully deployed. GE- was before your attack stalled and you had to call the entire CFC down to have a hope of winning the war.

It would not happen that way at all. The last time we tried to fight in your prime time you refused to engage our smaller force and after saving the station were content to just go home so we warped into you because we actually wanted a fight even though we knew full well you had bombers set up to bomb the ever loving shit out of us. Needless to say we are no longer going to bother forming up to fight in your prime time.

Well, you did exactly the same thing during your timers(you had in 5 times more carriers), so our FC thought that would be funny to show you how it feels like, when your enemy plays safe, sitting on station. That was a nice Leeroy from your side though.

For regular members it doesn’t matter. PL(and NCdot once) ruined their good fights multiple times this year. And they don’t care about some “holy war” with goons you have.

There was nothing happening for the last few month. We were actually waiting for your first move to help you against goons(i mean BIG war with full deployment from each side, etc.), but n3 was just doing nothing during August-October. To us, there was no big reason to attack CFC on our own. That’s why we made decision to help SOLAR and bring some content…otherwise we would be still roaming each other few times a week with 100-man fleets with no real goals. It was ok for a while, but we got sick of it by the end of October.

Or do n3 really like this roam thing with no real war?

You missed the entire point of what I said. It was not the war part it was the we lost part. We were not eager to start another war with the same entity when the only change would be us having 14000 less people on our side. See what your theory doesnt say is the truth as to why RUS has no respect or will never have respect for N3. Yes! RUS does’nt have a decent relationship with CFC, but when you have N3 leadership openly stating to RUS leadership that slovic women are nothing more than just common whores, the personal card was played almost a year ago. One thing is certian; game or no game words can be sharper than daggers and N3’s have punctured the RUS community as a whole with what was said.
Good luck getting any RUS entity to fight with N3 other than xxDeathxxx RUS crew and even that isn’t what they think it is Heh!. Ive heard the way N3 miliary/diplo/high cmmand personal speak to RUS on open or even closed comms such as Skype. Either way heres to N3 and their pets providing KM’s to all of us.

EMP would never attack Vale. Even they are not that strategically that stupid. Just because they feel good about a small win, doesnt mean they should press their luck and try for a very very large region.

BL @ 1k members can when red penned bring @ 160-180 for a small alliance but not every fucking cta and time zoned specific. Endurance is the end game. SS moving to Fountain to create another front will be very interesting as their move meeting was mainly how do we make isk. FFS use alts who can do wtf they like and pull isk for pvp main. It was not ALL N3 there…. MOA (mordus angels) comprised 10% of the attacking force, and was there to kill CFC and goon turds. Anywhere there are CFC and goons that need to be killed, they will kill them.Real fleet count below. Getting ANTI CFC and goon forces working on the SAME side is the only way to beat the CFC and goons. This is where TEST failed in the fountain war. It seems N3 has thier shit together, and will not make the same mistake.

MOA decimated CO2 in pureblind..they ran away after they shut down their industry… They have also withstood FA, TNT, and have beaten back SMA..all on their own ..on the CFC’s front door step. They are the last anti CFC force in the north and camp the goons in VFK their own home system…and they HIT way above their size. Someone should seriously talk to these guys and use them in more joint ops. They seem to have been willing to go 30 jumps away and deploy to help kill CFC, and represented 10% of the attacking force in the take over of PE.

A better use of MOA would be to deploy them back to CFC space to start snapping JBs and ref Cyno Beacons. While they are at it, send a couple of BLOPs fleets there to do the same in different areas. The CFC could not ignore that for long and would have to even further split their forces.

Starting fights on a multiple front has been the dumbest mistake CFC has made on this war so far. CFC itself is only effective at fighting if they fight as one cohesive unit instead of scattered force for this war…

    Simply because…
-Individual CFC alliances lack experience fighting by themselves; however, they are very experienced in huge multi-fleet battles. Conversely, PL & N3 are much better at fighting small gang & single fleet battles.
-N3/PL has extensive well established network of Jump-Bridges & Logistics chain inside their territories. Which allows them to easily attack scattered forces as one cohesive unit and pick scattered hostile groups off one by one. Thus, creating multiple front automatically creates handicap for attackers.
-CFC’s anti-capital doctrine (Baltec & FYF) requires huge threshold of players (1000+) against hostile capital fleets. The scattered fleets on the otherhand becomes an easy target for N3/PL’s capital fleet.

If CFC stays the course with their current strategy, N3/PL will surely win the war.

    Just my speculation. xD

It’s true to a degree what you say, cfc can only outgrow their incompetence when they are a single blob of 3:1 odds or more.
However even if cfc was to be a single blob they as history and every one knows would not be able to defend multiple fronts against them. Since N3/PL would seed a couple against CFCs blob only to take sov elsewhere by spreading cfc thin.
Cfc needs to become better, much better fighting in smaller units if they are to have a great chance of fighting multiple fronts.

What would happen if they had to choose between important sov or CSAA timers in 1 region or to attack N3/PL shitty sov in another, it would not bode well for cfc.

I only disagree in one aspect. The CFC are not in the war to win or lose or help per say. They just want NC. And PL renters that’s it. All the rest is bullshit designed to get the masses to fight. Split up the forces attack the renters from three separate directions. Gents/Fcon/and Co2 just blow chunks so hard that it isn’t working so well up north.

Here is a hint for you guys,

    CO2 & Gent
are only using bombers and other stupid frigits to because they have no isk to reimburst their members.
They are not able to fight because the dont have enough members.
They FC are under so much stress.
    They Dont have enough carriers
They dont want to take the risk to jump over carriers, reason is that they dont want to fight they want a low cost war and they are all afraid of domi fleets.
All the CFC started recruiting massivly once they know they were ordered to deploy so they starting to whine about spies alot to.

And i can go on and on and on.
