As many of you know recently typhoon Haiyan devastated the Philippines (a large collection of islands just north of Indonesia) many countries and organizations have sent aid there but the country is still suffering. If you wish to help using real life money please use this link to support those who desperately need it.
As with many disasters that have happened in the past, CCP has announced it shall be running its plex for good scheme, a scheme designed for those who are rich in eve online but not in real life and would like to help those in need. CCP’s Plex for good campaigns have been wildly successful in the past, such as the plex for good campaign for the Japanese tsunami of 2011 which managed to raise over $44,000 to aid those in Japan. This time for each Plex you donated CCP will donate $15 to Icelandic Red Cross.
If your interested in helping out by donating plex please follow the following simple instructions:
1) Buy plex off the market/using IRL money.
2) Create a contract to CCP PLEX for GOOD
3) In this contract only include Plex and make the contract length 14 days, CCP should accept your contract within 24hours (or less)
But what do you get out of donating par the satisfying feeling of being a decent human being?
Well for each PLEX you donate CCP will give you two virtual in-game “Sisters of EVE Food Relief Humanitarian T-shirt YC115” t-shirts (one male and one female) you can either sell these on market or wear them to show everyone how despite the fact you blow up other peoples spaceships for fun, your still a good person.
CCP have also mentioned that in exactly a weeks time (27/11/13) CCP Bro will produce a Dev blog that will contain a surprise that will “hopefully make this the most successful PLEX for GOOD drive to date”, as for what this surprise could be is anyone’s guess, my personal guess would be some kind medal.
Something to note for those of you who scam often, aside from the fact that if you attempt to scam people to prevent them from donating to charity your a horrible human being, CCP will punish any attempts at scamming relating to this program with “the harshest and swiftest action at our disposal.”
