First Enforcer Down in SV5-8N

June 15, 2017

The Concord ships given out to this years Fanfest attendees have been dropped into the inventories of pilots everywhere, and the race to kill the first one has been won by Northern Coalition in the system of SV5-8N in Catch. EN24 reached out to Capsuleer Muldreck of The Northerners [N8RTH], who took home both top damage and the killmark in his Orthrus class cruiser, for comment:

“I was in HED scouting for a small fleet in  SV5-8N which consisted of 3x orthrus, confessor, BNI, jackdaw and a sabre and saw the enforcer with a small fleet, we already knew who to primary and to approach in case of cloak.  Turns out he messed up with cloaking and we were able to get points and nuke, we ignored the rest of the fleet.

That’s pretty much how it went down.”

EN24 reached out to Capsuleer Rapid Blue of Imperium Technologies [IT] for comment on being the first unfortunate victim in this new ship:

“It was an honest mistake. I came back to eve about 2 Weeks ago after a few months break to spend time with family and relax after returning from an overseas deployment. I was on my way home to ARMY SOV planning on getting some BLOPS fleets going with my new toy. Before I took the gate into SV5-8N I noticed a NC Gnosis sitting on the gate. By then the automatic jump sequence was already taking place. For some reason I had it in my mind that the Enforcer was immune to bubbles. So I sat there for a few seconds wondering why hitting warp>mwd>cloak wasn’t working. When I finally figured it out and hit the align button I clicked my cloak. But it didn’t look like it had activated, so I went to hit it again. But of course, right as I hit that button it had activated; thus deactivating from my 2nd click. I tried to burn away from the gate to avoid a scram, but that didn’t work out as I had hoped. In hindsight, I probably could have gotten away if I had burned back to the gate. (After realizing my cloaking mistake).  Alexander Kaan helped me make a decent fit for it, seemed he was better at knowing how to fit ships. The sole purpose of the fit was to be somewhat fast, and survive until reinforcements come through the covert cyno.”

The Enforcer is a Force Recon ship, with the usual bonuses to web and scram range, but also sports some unique bonuses based on its association with Concord. The Enforcer has assorted bonuses to all racial classes of weapons and a full reduction in cloaking devices CPU requirements. It can fit both a covert ops cloaking device and a covert cyno and has exceptional bonuses to both. This ship gets a unique 10% bonus to security status gains from the destruction of non-capsuleer pirates, and armor repairer and shield booster effectiveness is increased by a percentage equal to 10x pilot security status, with a floor of 0% and ceiling of 50%. It is not immune to bubbles.

It’s description is as follows:

“Famously one of the most flexible and compact rapid-attack ships in the New Eden cluster, the Enforcer-class cruiser is iconic due to its repeated appearances in anticrime and recruitment media issued by CONCORD.

With a core design based on a combination of the Moa and Vexor cruiser subframes, CONCORD’s Directive Enforcement Department became concerned early in the Drifter Crisis that the ship could no longer meet its needs. The Enforcer joined other ship classes in the DED inventory as part of CONCORD Aerospace’s “Force Majeure Program” to develop enhanced variants.

While CONCORD Aerospace successfully upgraded the Enforcer and other DED vessels with hyper-advanced technology, the program became a severe drain on CONCORD’s resources. Consequently, the Inner Circle authorized a limited release of the Enforcer, stripped of CONCORD’s advanced rapid-deployment and electronic warfare suites, to the capsuleer market via authorized dealers.”

At the time of publishing this article, the Enforcer stands at about 1.4 billion isk in Jita as the number available is finite and Capsuleers are eager to try out the new ship. Both the Enforcer and it’s frigate counterpart the Pacifier should be released properly into the game in the near future, giving the rest of us a chance to test our theorycrafting.

Do you have a fit or use in mind for one of these unique Concord ships? Let us know in the comments below! (Seriously, I can’t figure out how to fit this thing!)
