Low Sec Rumble: Another Capital Brawl Erupts in Huola

February 7, 2017

By Salivan Harddin

Huola system, The Bleak Lands region. On the 4th of February at 3:14 EVE Standard Time, the Huola system erupted in further violence as Siege Green. [SSGRN] and its allies confronted Did he say Jump [JMP-N].

The battle was fought over a planetary customs office belonging to Did he say Jump. The structure was reinforced by Siege Green., and the two alliances formed up for another bitter round of fighting between the two of them.

Siege Green. and its myriad of allies formed a 90 pilot Machariel battleship fleet and warped to the customs office in range to wait for its enemies. The fleet had also an Apostle force auxiliary to augment its logistics wing.

Against this, Did he say Jump organised a much smaller, 60 pilot fleet of Machariels. The force travelled to the system, entering via gates before warping to the grid, landing a short distance from the Siege Green. fleet. The two fleets opened fire, starting a close range brawl.

The two fleets exchanged autocannon bursts as the Siege Green. fleet drove into the Did he say Jump Machariels. Did he say Jump didn’t waste time and lit a cynosural beacon, bringing a mixed capital squadron to the field, mainly combat carriers as well as a few force auxiliaries.

Siege Green. thought the initial escalation would be dreadnoughts but adapted and countered, warping in its own squadron of combat carriers. The two capital squadrons squared off deploying fighters and in turn, space superiority fighters to counter them.

Neither side was able to break through the others’ tank, thanks in part to the force auxiliaries. Realising this quickly, the Siege Green. fleet concentrated its entire firepower, as well as the many heavy energy neutralizers on one of the Did he say Jump force auxiliaries, a Ninazu.

The capital ship, under the immense pressure of the energy neutralizers and the relentless barrage of the battleships, caved in remarkably fast, forcing Did he say Jump to bring in further reinforcements in the shape of 4 dreadnoughts and more force auxiliaries.

Siege Green. reacted by focusing its entire firepower of the newly arrived capitals. Quickly, the opposing fleets targeted hostile force auxiliaries and dreadnoughts, bent on bringing them down as fast as possible to deprive their enemies of much of their logistics and damage capability. All the while, the two sides exchanged fighter squadron losses, with Did he say Jump fleet losing the majority.

With its fighter squadrons in tatters, the Did he say Jump combat carriers became toothless and unable to contribute to their fleet’s damage output. This rate at which the fleet was able to destroy Siege Green.’s force auxiliaries slowed, a fact which would become significant later.

Siege Green. in the meantime kept demolishing the Did he say Jump force auxiliaries, which formed the main backbone of the fleet’s logistics wing. Apostles and even Lif were brought down, allowing the Siege Green. fleet to start removing some of the hostile battleships from the field. A few of the Did he say Jump Machariels were destroyed as the Siege Green. fleet managed to catch the struggling logistics wing off guard.

Did he say Jump kept bringing a steady supply of force auxiliaries and even gain reinforcements in the form of a Shadow Cartel [SHDWC] Proteus strategic cruiser fleet. The 50 pilot fleet had been en-route to join Did he say Jump and finally arrived in the system, warping to the field to reinforce its ally.

Did he say Jump and Shadow Cartel managed to inflict losses on the Siege Green. fleet, taking down several of its force auxiliaries and dreadnoughts. Even so, Siege Green. kept warping in fresh force auxiliaries, and much like Did he say Jump, replenished its losses easily, especially as it fought in its home system.

Struggling to break every force auxiliary, Did he say Jump and Shadow Cartel ultimately lost theirs to Siege Green. who promptly pushed its advantage. Without the backing of their force auxiliaries, the Did he say Jump and Shadow Cartel fleets started haemorrhaging mainline ships. Battleships and strategic cruisers went down in rapid succession, overwhelmed by autocannon rounds and a swarm of fighters.

Even the Did he say Jump combat carriers weren’t spared, several of them taken down during the onslaught. Realising fairly quickly that their combined might were unable to stand against Siege Green. and its allies, Did he say Jump and Shadow Cartel warped off the grid, leaving a few stragglers behind to be dispatched by the victors.

With Shadow Cartel and Did he say Jump in full retreat, Siege Green. and its allies cleared the field of what hostiles they managed to tackle before destroying the planetary customs office and erecting their own, thus securing the objective.

With the objective and the field won, Siege Green. and its supporters extracted their remaining capitals and their fleet, bringing the fight to a close.
