The passing week has supplied more than enough videos from around New Eden. From ambient videos, fake trailers and some hilarious or tense PvP moments, these are EVE News 24’s picks for the past week:
#1 Bombers Bar – The Rorqual Weekend: NOW FEATURING EREBUS KILL! by Olmeca Gold
One of the first NPSI (Not Purple Shoot It) communities in New Eden, Bombers Bar continues to cause mischief across the cluster. In this nicely edited video, the past weeks’ exploits are shown as the group hunts for a particular type of “Whale” (Capital ship) – The Rorqual. With the Ascension expansion bringing these ships out of the shields and into the belts, Bombers Bar decided to snag a few. As the video shows, it succeeded beyond its wildest dreams, topping a successful week of kills with a titan.
#2 Eve Online Alpha Clones by EveBusinessInsider
With the advent of clone states, new players may often find themselves overwhelmed by the choices they are asked to make early on. In this video, EBI goes over the different career paths available to the new recruits, as well as their viability. The video also takes care to mention the difference between the two different clone states and the impact it has on certain professions. It also comes with quite a bit of advice for the new players. Highly recommended for new players and people considering joining the game.
#3 Endeavour 1.0 by F4bske
A nicely edited video of small (“Microgang”) and solo PvP, often against much greater odds. The ships featured range from Orthrus, Vexor Navy Issue, Machariel and even a small Confessor gang. Good quality, heart pounding action and a nice soundtrack accompanying it all, what more can you ask?
#4 My Raven was equipped with the following by Stitch K
Stitch K returns in a new video showcasing one of the most unlikely PvP ships imaginable: The Torpedo Raven. In this collection of fights, Stitch K shows the fearsome ability of this battleship and its deadly payload. Warning, not for the faint of heart!
#5 Procurer vs Drake by Haydies Elarik
While not the best edited or most exhilarating video, there is just something hilarious and surreal in seeing a battlecruiser brought down by a lowly mining barge. Though Procurers are known for their toughness and pose a danger for the unwary combat pilot, it is not often you see one used to solo PvP.
#6 Impossitrev SOLO PVP Ep.2: Three Days’ Work by TrevtonCG
Another compilation of solo PvP fights, this time featuring some true and tested ships, like the resurgent Abaddon, the reliable Hyperion as well as not so common sights such as the Damnation. All told quite an enjoyable assembly of fights, with a nice nostalgic soundtrack as an added bonus!
#7 Eve Online Stratop – CO2 Calls For Help by FearfulFerret
A video detailing a fight in Tribute. The film contains beautiful visuals, explanation of the fight, the comms of the Test Alliance Please Ignore [TEST] fleet and a lot of explosions. A great reminder that fleet fights can be beautiful, when people are not occupied following primaries that is!
#8 Eve Online -FW- Hecate “Return of The King” by Otto Von Bismark
The tactical destroyer re-balance has brought to the forefront of faction warfare a new dangerous predator. The new king of the complexes in the war zone is none other than the Hecate. In this video, Otto Von Bismark demonstrates in a myriad of fights just how powerful the new and improved tactical destroyer really is.
#9 CHAOS Tackles a Wyvern by Tungsten Knight
A nice video detailing the death of one Wyvern super carrier at the hands of Escalating Entropy [CHAOS] and friends. In this speed lapsed video, the super carrier manages to resist for an entire hour, bringing Escalating Entropy fleet commanders nearly to tears. In the end though, Escalating Entropy has the last laugh.
