The story of Nulli Secunda former Titan continues!
A few days ago we covered the story of three Titans from former Nulli Secunda moving through the Aridia region and being ganked by Pandemic Legion [Link]. That ambush ended with two titans being blown-up and the third one escaping by using his jump drive. However the story of said Titan didn’t end there.
You can run, but you can’t hide.
Just one day after escaping from the Pandemic Legion onslaught, the Avatar become the victim of a combined effort between Infernal Octopus, AXIOS. and, famous for super-hunting, Lowsechnaya Sholupen.
We managed to contact a pilot who was a part of that kill and he shared the story with us!
Quindaster
Quindaster is an Infernal Octopus leader, he has lived in Aridia for 7 years now and was a part of the Titan kill that happened.
- Quindaster > Yes, I was there on that kill, it’s titan who jump out from Ajna few days ago when Nulli super fleet jumped to Ajna. He jumped out when 2 others titans was decloaked.
- Shorassil Impious >Yes but then you manage to catch it anyway?
- Quindaster > He jumped out from Ajna and cloak in Gens and after that log off.
- Shorassil Impious > How he was tackled then?
- Quindaster > After a day or 2 he logs back and wait for exit cyno in some other system, but when he jumped first time to Gens – he emergency warped out on some random object and he landed on Customs office. So, when he logs on next day – he land on customs office and can’t cloak on it. Some of our fleet member went back home trough this system and he saw on scan a titan and reported it. So after we lighted cyno on this titan and bridge HICs and after he confirmed he point titan, we jump to system on capitals.
- Shorassil Impious > So Your organization wasnt camping for that titan to log on?
- Quindaster > It was good luck one of our members went trought this system and had cyno on board and light cyno on this customs office on titan. He warped to a planet where possibly was a titan, and when he land, he saw titan sitting on a customs office. We had only one HIC ready when our member light cyno, so he keep titan on place till we start to login more hics and warp on our titan for bridge, he almost neuted our only HIC and HIC few times lost point from titan.
- Shorassil Impious > Sounds like a true hero-tackle. But why only send one HIC?
- Quindaster > I mean we bridge only 1 hic first, till others went to dock to switch ships from carebear mobiles to something what looks like pvp ship, I mean hics and capitals.
- Shorassil Impious > You also went there with LowSechnaya group, right?
- Quindaster > It’s 3 alliance kill, AXIOS. LSH, and our alliance, because we are Aridia locals and we work together against intruders.
- Shorassil Impious > And why didnt You camped the Gens to wait for that Titan pilot to log back on?
- Quindaster > No one thought that titan will be here in our prime time. Cos as you saw, previous 2 Nulli titan from this corp moved around 05:30 eve time, what is not exactly our prime time. But that time is prime time for Pandemic Legion, so maybe for this nulli titan want to move in different time.
- Shorassil Impious > I see, so You catch it by sheer luck and Titan pilots own mistakes.
- Quindaster > Yes, exactly.

Conclusion
EVE is famous for stories like these. Many little things that seems to be meaningless at first glance lead to the loss of a colossal ship (estimated value of 109 billion ISK). Would the Titan pilot have survived if he hadn’t warped to a custom’s office, or at least not at zero? What if the guy who was roaming through Gens didn’t have a cyno with him or if the lone HIC pilots decided to not log on that day? If this event were missing any one of these factors the outcome might have been very different.
