Roundup: Sov Tracking Boards and Tools

July 14, 2015

It didn’t take long for third party developers to integrate the new sov information from EVE into their sites. CCP made sov information available via CREST before the transition to new sov & the result is new player-created sov boards and tools available as soon as Aegis’ sovereignty changes arrived.

This is similar to the release of the Thera system, when EVE-scout had entry points to the system on day-one. That was a little different in that the data was provided by players. These new sov boards and tools benefit from a direct data tie in to CCP. Much like killboards, sov info will be available close to realtime.

Before we do a quick roundup the websites, let’s have a look at the sov tracking features inside the game client:

Freeport Stations are a selection in the layers of the Map. There are other options as well: reinforces, sov holdings and so on. All can be found under the Sovereignty sub menu.

Then there are the new sov UI trackers found inside the alliance tab. CCP Fozzie stated that a lot of tweaks and improvements came out of the testing phase on the test server. These are great for players that log in looking for something to do right away.

Out of game maps and trackers will be popping up all over, but these are whats available as players explore the freshly-deployed Aegis sov system.

Dotlan adds reinforce indicators to their maps as well as detailed views.

A new site called timerboard.net shows a clean list view of reinforce timers, with filtering options on the way. This layout works well on mobile devices.

In the great tradition of EVE, a Entosis calculator was built by kiu Nakamura of the Brave Collective. This mobile-friendly calculator determines how long it will take to reinforce a structure.

Finally, another timer board was built by members of the Fidelas Constans alliance as a test – FCON Board. At this time it doesn’t appear to be current so it was not highlighted.

If you have designed other tools or boards, please list them in the comments and we’ll add them to the article. Thanks for all the hard work, developers.
