Caladrius Alliance Capital Force Obliterated in J7A-UR

July 6, 2015

J7A-UR system, Curse region. On the 5th of July, 13:30 EVE Standard Time, a Capital fleet belonging to Caladrius Alliance [-000-] was obliterated by forces belonging to Pandemic Legion [-10.0] and senseless intentions [SENSE].

The fight occurred over an R32 moon in the system. [-000-] has recently gained sovereignty in the Immensea region as an ally of Gentlemen’s.Club [GCLUB] and has been busy settling in the area. However since Immensea is mostly owned by [GCLUB], including the lucrative moons located in it, the alliance had to look elsewhere for additional income. It found an R32 moon in the J7A-UR system in the Curse region, though quite a way from their holdings it was still in jump range.

Although The Initiative. [INIT.] controlled the moon, the alliance itself had recently departed to the Tenal region, leaving its assets in Curse mostly undefended. [-000-] seized on the opportunity and reinforced and subsequently destroyed the tower, planting its own in exchange.

This did not go unnoticed, specifically by [SENSE] who recently moved to the Curse region. The alliance mostly dealt in small scale PvP and had been living in the Pure Blind region for the past couple of years, but decided to relocate a few months ago to the Curse region. It reinforced the [-000-] tower and later destroyed it as well, supplanting it with its own. A couple of skirmishes were fought over the tower, but nothing serious happened until a Loki Strategic Cruiser de-cloaked off the tower. It lit a cynosural beacon and in jumped a Thanatos Carrier and an Erebus Titan belonging to [-000-], probably the result of a miss-click.

With the Titan on grid, [SENSE] knew it could not match [-000-], especially as it was known for utilizing Bhargest Battleship fleets with Dreadnought support. [-10.0] who has been staging in the Curse region was quickly contacted, as tackle attempted to catch the Titan, overcoming their initial shock. The Titan managed to warp away and cloak, but in poured [-000-] forces, a Bhargest fleet estimated at 20 pilots with a mixed Capital force of Dreadnoughts and Carriers, 10 in total.

[SENSE] were told to quickly tackle the Capitals and burn in a cynosural beacon, as [-10.0] forces were engaged elsewhere at the time and could not arrive in sub-capitals to help. Instead, they organized their Super Capitals while entrusting both the beacon and the tackle to [SENSE]. [SENSE] for its part managed to deploy interdiction probes on the Capitals and light a cynosural beacon on the field, ushering in the [-10.0] Super Capital fleet.

As the Super Carriers landed on grid, a swarm of fighter bombers quickly formed and lashed at the Capitals, their sub-capital escorts trying to clear as much tackle as possible to free them. Yet it proved too late for most of them, as Dreadnoughts and Carriers were torn to shreds by the fighter bomber cloud. A couple of Capitals and the Erebus Titan managed to jump out of the system to safety, but the rest were not so lucky.

With the last Capital ship destroyed, a Revelation Dreadnought, the fighter bombers returned to the Super Carriers’ bays, replaced with fighters which attempted to rip apart the Bhargests. One was caught by the Super Carriers, but the rest managed to flee, extracting from the system and allowing [SENSE] to keep the tower.

With no more hostiles around, the [-10.0] Super Capital force extracted as well, returning home with no further incidents.

Thus, large scale hostilities in the system came to an end.

Battle report for the J7A-UR system can be found here.

The battle lasted 6 minutes and saw less than 100 pilots in the system at its peak, with no Time Dilation reported.

[-000-] suffered the brunt of the losses: 12 ships including 5 Dreadnoughts, 3 Carriers and 1 Battleship for a total of 19.56 Bil ISK damage. [SENSE] and [-10.0] lost only 9 ships, mostly Interdictors for 0.4 Bil ISK damage.

All told [-000-] was soundly defeated, losing both the tactical and strategic objective, and only by a miracle not losing a Titan in the process. [SENSE] managed to gain a moon and defend it, for now. As for [-10.0], it once again proved why it is unwise to deploy any Capitals in the vicinity of the Curse region.

For all intents and purposes [-000-] seemed to have overreached itself, pushing for a moon in a system that is far from its staging and in range of one of the most notorious groups in New Eden. Perhaps these recent losses would convince it of its error, and perhaps we may see further losses over the J7A-UR moons.
